Hello to you if you are reading this post.

The reason I've started this thread is simple, it's so I can keep track of my earnings. Yes, I know I could do that on a simple spreadsheet on my computer, but as I've learnt a lot about earning money online from threads such as these, I thought I'd start my own diary to share my experience with others. I plan to do an update post each week (weekends) with running totals, and then a full summary monthly total at the end of each month.

I've been keeping a log of my earnings since the beginning of April, so here's the first fully summary monthly totals for the month of APRIL (2020).

April's Earnings: £177.26
So, what am I doing with these earnings I hear you ask? Well, I'm using it to invest in the stock market, and each month I transfer my earnings over to my Stocks & Shares ISA. I did the same thing last year and managed to transfer £2000 into a Stocks & Shares ISA, which I intend to use as my benchmark (bar) for this year.

Amount Transferred into the ISA this month: £150.00 - I like to transfer £50.00 chunks into the ISA, so I round DOWN to the nearest £50.00. It is not essential, but I just like round numbers!

TOTAL EARNINGS: £177.26 | TARGET £2000.00 (March, 31 2021)

Final Note: I'm only recording earnings from sites that offer actual cash (£ GBP, Euro or $ Dollar).

May Week 1: Earnings: £32.18
Summary Notes: Not the greatest of weeks, but there hasn't seemed to be much work on Appen / Clickworker which are a couple of my higher earners. Prolific has been good and I managed to partake in a couple of surveys which are multi-part, so I'm just keeping a lookout for Parts 2 & 3 etc., which the survey owners assure me I have guaranteed places on. That'll hopefully support next weeks earnings a little.

I also took part in a SliceThePie survey, for $5.00 which involved 17 little 20 second surveys over 3-4 days. This was easy money.

This week I have also signed up to FruitLab, which is a passive earning site, where you watch video's in return for PIPS. The pips are exchangeable for vouchers or PayPal apparently (1,000 PIPS = US$1), so I'm just seeing how that goes. I'm currently as 1474 PIPS.

Another Update next week! - Happy Earning!

May Week 2: Earnings: £94.63
Summary Notes: A better week this week, which was kick started by an Appen task which I bagged around 5 hours work, which was easy (but boring) clicking! I also took part in a screener survey for a focus group on Wednesday next week (through PanelBase). I have been accepted so if that goes ahead then I'd be likely to be paid £30 for around 60minutes worth of effort.

This week I have also signed up to two new sites, SerpClix and MicroWork (app). I'm finding both these really easy, and hopefully will add a few extra quid per week.

For those following this thread, I've given up with FruitLab, its tedious and I'm not convinced by the earnings just by watching video's. I may go back to it, but for now I'm putting a pin in it.

May Week 3: Earnings: £89.08
Summary Notes: Another good week this week, and I'm ahead of where I need to be. I mentioned last week that I'd had an invite to a focus group via. PanelBase which paid £30 for 60 minutes of my time, and I have to say little in the way of effort. I have also had a good week with Clickworker, and have done a number of high paying tasks.

This week, I have also been testing out Streetbees and have earned £8.20, this seems to be straight forward and uses a great little iPhone app. I love the simplicity of the app and it very easy to use. It pays out direct to PayPal as soon as they submission is approved. This I'm going to stick at I think and will hopefully help keep the average up.

Next week is month-end, so keen to see where I end up, especially as I'm higher that last month already and its only end of week 3!

May Week 4: Earnings: £56.32
Summary Notes: Not a bad week, but lower than I'd have liked. Its been for me a little mixed and I'm waiting on a few tasks on Appen to register the work this week which is brought down my average for the week. The highest amount earned this week was from Clickworker, as I had a couple of eye tracking surveys which pay €15.00 each!

I have signed up to Neevo this week as I've been reading on this forum that some people are finding this to be a good earner, I've taken a test and achieved a good score, so here's hopping that site will make the weekly list going forward.

So it is month end, so the final totals are in; May's Earnings: £272.21

Amount Transferred into the ISA this month: £250.00

TOTAL EARNINGS: £449.47 | TARGET £2000.00 (March, 31 2021)

June Week 1: Earnings: £27.60
Summary Notes: Well what can I say, a very low earning week this week. and this really is as a result of not having enough time to put in to doing online earning.

However, OnePulse reached the payout threshold, and paid me $20.00 and I have also reached the payout threshold of PopulusLive so awaiting another £50.00 from them.

June Week 2: Earnings: £38.36
Summary Notes: An average week in week 2, I've been busy again this week and have missed a couple of Appen tasks that had I been free I think this would have boosted the earnings. Oh well, not to worry, there is always next week!

I've earned £4.00 on Crowdology, which I've found a little frustrating as I'm rarely able to see a survey through from start to completion without being screened out. Maybe I've just had a bad week in that respect.

One thing I checked on this week is my profile information on Prolific, I was showing as 32% complete, so spent around 30-minutes completing that to hopefully stand a better chance of being selected for work opportunities. I think this is something I will need to check regularly, as I was convinced I was 100% a few months ago.

June Week 3: Earnings: £56.20
Summary Notes: Week 3 already, and I've had a bit more success that will hopefully be fruitful for next week's earnings. I've bagged my place on Focus group for £40 which is Tuesday, and I've done around 4-hours of Appen projects this week that I hope to see invoice next week. That will hopefully boost the end of this month's earnings up.

June Week 4: Earnings: £105.17
Summary Notes: Week 4 and only a few days to the end of the month. I did think that the time would drag being in lock-down (even though the restrictions are starting to ease), but the weeks are just flying by. Really pleased this week with the earnings, and has certainly boosted my total for the month and I still a few days to go.

This week I took part in a Focus Group (1-2-1) Zoom survey about car buying. This proved really interesting and had me thinking about how I buy a car, what sources of information I access and what I like and don't like about the whole experience. for that I will be receiving a £40.00 Amazon voucher, however as per my rules this does not get added to the total as its a voucher and not actual money £, $ or €. I'll probably stash this in the amazon account as I can guarantee it'll come in handy!

The bulk of the earning this month are Appen work tasks that have started trickling through. I'm on a number of projects and try to put a few hours in where I can to keep on the project. So far this year, Appen is one of my favourite earning sites. If you haven;t already, give it a try.

I'll do a full round up for the month of June in a few days, there is still chance to push a little higher yet for the month, so will just enter just a summary entry once the month is complete.

Back in few days! - Happy Earning!

Is there a reason why you are so heavy on the super low paying survey sites and not for example hoovering up the work on the likes of Roamler, BeMyEye etc.

That’s a great question Jon. So one thing I can’t do is get out and about, as I’m working from home Full Time, so cannot get out and about doing tasks. This for me is a side hustle and simply gives me some play money which I’m using to fund my playtime on the stock market.

I maybe wrong, but I figured the BeMyEye and Roamler need you to out and about earning money rather from the comfort of my sofa (or if my boss is reading this, my home office chair)

I am still learning though, so happily take some advice of easier ways to make money!

Week 12: Earnings: £37.43
Summary Notes: Firstly, a change to the reporting structure. I'm planning on changing the way in which I record diary entries, so rather than month - week 'n', the reports will just run weekly, i.e., so last week was week 12, and the week ahead is week 13. I will also no longer have monthly totals, and instead just keep a running total of everything I've earned and transferred into the ISA at the end of each post.

This week has been a little slow, so only managed £37.43 this week. I have done some work on Neevo this week, which hasn't yet confirmed the amount, so that'll give me a lift up next week (I hope). This is the first time I've done work for them after signing a couple of weeks ago. The task I performed was listening to audio-clips and rating them on a scale of 1-5 as to how natural they sounded. It was easy to do, but my gosh was it was boring!

  • Vypr: £0.00 + 5080 Points (10,000 points = £5)
  • OnePulse: $5.03 (£3.91) Currently 9220XP (level 13) and have earned $13.10 [$20.00 cash-out threshold]
  • Clickworker: €2.32 (£2.02)
  • Appen: $0.00 (£0.00)
  • Prolific: £19.07
  • PanelBase: £2.90
  • TopCashBack (Free Cashback Only): £0.00
  • Quidco (Free Cashback Only): £0.00
  • SliceThePie: $1.26 (£0.98) (Balance: $1.86) [$10.00 cash-out threshold]
  • PopulusLive: £0.00 (Balance: £7.00) [£50.00 cash-out threshold]

  • Microwork: $0.25 (£0.19)
  • Streetbees: £3.15
  • Crowdology: £0.00
  • Neevo: $10.00 (£7.76)
Summary Notes: Another week over, and this week I can safely say I've missed a good number of money earning opportunities because I've been too slow. There have been an increase of studies on Prolific this week many paying good hourly rates, but by the time I've spotted it, there are no places left! However, I've still managed £19.07 this week which I'm pleased with. I also received my first Neevo payment this week, and so far its not the best in hourly rate but every penny or cent counts.

I have managed about 3 hours of Appen work, which isn't yet accounted for so will see if that appears in my invoice list for next week. I'm hoping for around $42.00 for the 3-hours work, @$14.00/hr.

Summary Notes: Some good earnings this week, which are made up mainly from Appen and Prolific, which if I'm being brutally honesty with myself are the key players when it comes to my earning strategy. I'm ahead of where I needed to be for this year's target, which I'm not seeing as time to take the foot of the gas and relax, as I'm sure that there will be weeks where earnings are low due to taking time off/leave or there is just generally slim pickings.

I've applied for some more Appen projects this week, so see what comes of that, over the coming weeks. When you apply to be on Appen projects, especially those which may have been running for sometime, you tend to have to wait till space becomes available on he project before you can take part.

Cashed out on OnePoll this week, so that'll be a nice £25.00 into the ISA pot when comes through.

Congrats on your earnings and glad to see you are ahead of your target. I too am a stocks and shares ISA fan. I am a loose follower of the FIRE movement and use the ISA to try and generate an income which I hope will mean I rely less and less on 'needing to earn'.

Week 15: Earnings: £45.43
Summary Notes: Another average week this week, and I'm happy with that.

For next week I've been accepted on to a focus group via AngelFish. For that I'll be paid £30 in Amazon vouchers, which I'll just add to the amazon account and will likely put it towards a Christmas gifts. I don't see this as cash as such so exclude it from my total, but I guess it's a type of 'earning' so thought I'd capture it anyway.

I'm not sure if they have any referral fee's, but there is a referral code within my Streetbee's App, and Curious Cat App. Try them out and see if they do anything...

Hi Sherliarty. I had to google "FIRE" movement, as I'd not heard of that acronym before. Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) is certainly something I'm working towards, so I guess I'm part of a movement without realizing! I have always been a saver and been putting money aside for as long as I've been earning it. I'm now middle-aged (if that is still such a thing) and continue to save for the future. My strategy in Stocks & Shares is simple; I invest whenever a share looks undervalued, and I'm in it for the long haul, so dips in markets due to world events present decent buying opportunities. I try to stick with well known household names, and spread my portfolio so its in different sectors, so currently I have a fairly even split across Finance, Entertainment, Property, Food & Drink, Mining, Energy, Industrial, and Construction. I buy each month, so have bought some stocks that are now less than I paid, and others significantly more, in the main its fairly well balanced and longer term, those shares I'm buying in the last few months, have looked very good value indeed. Time will tell of course, and I'm not an expert by any means, but I can indulge in this hobby by funding through earnings from sites such as those on my diary, without putting my family finances at risk.

The biggest blocker for me previously was the costs of trades, but with sites such as Trading 212 and Freetrade (I personally use Freetrade) the trade cost is £0, which makes investing small amounts (little and often) a viable option. I can buy a few shares in Lloyds Bank for instance which was £0.28/share on Friday, without having a huge trading cost. This new generation of Trading apps are certainly making it easy. I actually enjoy researching my next purchase, that is part of the fun in learning about where products come from, who owns brands, and where do they come from. Its fascinating, and the more it draws you in, the more you want to learn.
