Well I will start off by saying this experience has taught me a valuable lesson...this whole experience started a couple of months ago when I was still relatively new to making money online and I now keep track of EVERYTHING I do and which company it was via but anyway...
Sometime in June I completed a survey regarding taking part in a beauty study. Don't remember which survey site it was with and I am a member of quite a few. On the 17th June I got an email from a company called Clearvoice Research saying I had qualified to take part and that the online beauty study would take place the following day, that I would get paid £35 within 3-5 days for doing a 1 hour online chat and provided a link. Great, I thought. The email has a contact name, address etc so I thought that was fine.
I logged in and did the webchat. I remember while doing it I asked the person how I would be paid, they said they were not sure they were just conducting the research on behalf of their client, fair enough I thought.
On 16th July I still had not received any payment and had received no reply to emails sent to the original person that had sent me the invite, so I contacted Clearvoice Research via the contact form on their website. Since then I have been in contact with someone, who in fairness does respond to my emails, but I am now getting really frustrated. The person is basically claiming that they don't know who the panel is that the research was carried out for. I don't understand how this can be the case as presumably they are getting paid for carrying out the research and who have they provided the chat information to then?!
The guy responds to my emails politely and promptly enough, but then says he will keep in touch but I never hear from him again until I re-initiate contact. I have sent another email this morning but am now starting to doubt if I will ever see this payment. I realise I should have known who the original survey site was, but as I had the contact details on the email sent re the webchat I thought that would be sufficient - lesson learned.
I guess my question is, is there anything else I can do about this, anywhere else I can turn to get this payment? If it were a small amount I would have moved on by now, but £35 is quite significant to me, plus there is the principle of it all. Clearvoice don't seem to be on social media (Facebook and Twitter links on their site are broken - good sign!).
Any advice appreciated.
