Hey - Sorry, slightly off topic. (Delete if it's in the wrong place)

Love reading about all the dosh earned here etc.
I just wonder have you folks noticed any health problems/headaches with all the screen time needed?

I try to be sensible with taking screen breaks and so on:
just hard finding a happy medium when you need the moolah!

Cheers

I used to get headaches

Turned out I needed glasses because obviously my screentime had increased. Once I got them I was fine ;)

Generally though you want to be earning the most you can for the time you have available so you want to be targetting high paying work rather than spending 3 hours a day doing surveys if you get my drift

Yeah. I got some glasses blue light blockers clip ons. Look like BONO now - but it helps a lot more!

Still struggling a little with the best way to fill that time , so survey's help out a bit at the moment till something better comes along.

Cheers

I spend waaaaaaay too much time attached to a screen as although my job is quite variable, depending on the phase of a project, I can be behind my laptop all day for my day job and then in the evening/night for home stuff. As Jon says, make sure your eye tests are up to date for a start. I wear glasses but only for distance so it isn't an issue for the laptop. However you can also adjust your brightness, download filters etc to make it easier on your eyes (not sure if thats more or less effective than your clip ons), and ideally consider the angle you're working at. It sounds silly but craning/hunching to see your screen (particularly common with a laptop even at a desk as it really should be raised) can cause headaches through tension - besides the sore back that often comes with it too. Regular breaks to move and stretch rests your eyes and your body.

Thanks Peaches. Yeah the clip ons help a lot. I tried cheap Amazon ones first but then went for a dedicated company and the difference was huge.

I tried that FLUX for changing the screen colours and it's pretty good. Free too!

Wondering whether to splash out for some better lighting in my room.
Some bulbs/setups can be harsh!

Using the phone as opposed to desktop seems to flare up my tinnitus!
EMF radiation?! Possibly - but that's another story!

Thanks for the tips

Nate

How are you making money from writing if you don't mind me asking?

I write small articles for someone online. I cant remember what site it started on. After a few jobs we stopped and then a couple of years later they got in touch asking if I was interested in doing some more. As you can see it is only small amounts a day but it adds up and I do it while watching the telly.

Thanks. Yeah if you enjoy it and can get paid, great stuff. Looking into some myself though would love really creative stuff - tried greeting card companies but got rejected! Still trying. Cheers.

I've lost track a bit this month. I believe I am at around £160 out of £350 at the moment.
