I know most (including me) use Profit accumulator, but I've seen that Oddsmonkey is a lost cheaper overall compared to PA..... So what is the catch? Why does everyone here use PA over OM?

You know PA is only £17.99 a month now [member=1333]gavvy[/member] ? It changed a few weeks ago.

I don't think it's about there being a catch it's just about looking at the user interface / tools / content / price and decide which is right for you

A lot of people get PA at a reduced rate due to the loyalty bonus

According to some reviews I read- and I have no idea if this is true, the extras PA charge for the Acca catcher etc are included as standard on OM - I have no idea if this is true as I am only just getting back into matched betting and have yet to place an Acca.

Take a look and see what you think :)

Especially if you think you are going to do endless accas and horse refunds.

That money tracking tool PA have added as well is pretty damn useful if you haven't played around with it.

Maybe once I've done as many offers as I can I will have a look at the extras - or see if OM offer a free month and give them a go :)

PA - Good: Support (you can telephone them if needed), Videos for sign-up offers, Forum (OM is getting better though), Match/Acca catcher (but those two are an additional cost). Bad: Cost (although as Jon says they have made it cheaper, but the cost doubles if you want the useful tools), Oddsmatcher (this is a personal preference but I just can't get on with it and its limitations)

OM - Good: Price (they do include a lot more tools in the price, including accas, dutching, and each way matcher), Oddsmatcher (is better as it allows you to play with over/underlay, and has more bookies), they have a few more sign-up offers. Bad: acca tools are not a patch on the PA one, forum is still not as big.

Does their horse refund catcher update as quickly?

I have OM as the base sub (mainly because of the Oddsmatcher) and pay for the PA acca catcher (match catcher comes with it but I only use it occasionally). The OM acca tools do come in the price and are functional but they don't pick up all the matches the PA one does, they allow you to pick and choose legs easier but it still doesn't have all the different legs. The Racing matcher is race specific instances of the oddsmatcher, but they don't auto update as the PA one does.

i used PA for a year found it good ..learned a lot..but after getting too many gubbings i stopped then took out 1 month on OM for cheltenham.. it has far more for your money (you dont pay for the extra tools) it has a lot more sign up offers than PA but most importantly for me the match catcher is up to date (i was really sick of finding matches on PA only to find either bookie or exchange prices or both completely different..ended up just doing manual searches when possible...the OM one has been accurate every single time also on PA many bookies get no results on the match catcher...not so on OM... PA is lauded as having a good forum community which it does as longvas someone can be bothered answering you... i used TMS forum which was far better and to date the OM forum is very helpful... think PA is good for newbies who need lots of instructions on how to do MBing...but if you have the basics down then OM is a lot better.

Seems PA have listened! - as of today Match catcher and everything else is now included in the £17.99 fee - anyone who paid up for a year can apply for a pro rate refund!

First the reduction to £17.99 and now including everything, they are definitely feeling the pressure..... Now if they could only get that Oddsmatcher sorted out.......

There is a 3rd option.

https://www.matchedbets.com/

£99 for the year which includes all tools I believe. Never used it myself. Just saying its out there.

I'm a Monkey man myself and prefer that to PA, but I think it comes down to personal preference really.

I've found it to be a preference thing tbh - both have their advantages and disadvantages over the other. Both do the same sort of free trial and money-back if you don't make anything in the first month so there's really no detriment to trying both and seeing which you prefer.

A vague answer, but it's certainly true!

I did try the free trial. The odds matcher auto updates (although similarish speed to match catcher), but only has 10 results per page and I didn't really get on with it.

Methinks PA are feeling the pinch now, The only things i can see where OM is still in front is the sign up offers OM has that PA does'nt and probably more importantly OM oddsmatcher is faster, more up to date and (seems to) include matches for all bookies.
Maybe a wee price war can be prompted here? Maybe get both down to £10 a year LOL

Great chance to try out OM for 7 days in their TODAY ONLY for £1 Trial Offer - see my other post. I will be checking out the Odds Matcher and the Acca Catcher :)
