Hi, :)

Having taken up the OM £1 Trial offer for 7 days, I am keen to finally try some Acca's whilst I have the use of the Acca Matcher tool.

Firstly, is there a way of selecting UK only matches? I usually just bet on UK footie, so it will look strange if I suddenly do a bunch of international teams, even if they are in an Acca.

Secondly, is it just geared to show results for current Acca offers, or is it possible to do a normal Acca, if I wanted to do one as a MUG bet for example?

I was hoping to try the Lay at Start method but these seem to have quite high QL's, depending on the number of legs won and lost.
The Lay Sequential Lock-In method has the lowest risk but typically this weekend I may not be at my computer enough (no smartphone) to guarantee laying them all. Also, the odds can change, to confuse me further, ha ha!

There don't seem to be any Uk matches tomorrow either - which would have been the best day for me.

No, but you can select specific legs if you want. You will rarely find a good set of matches for a 100% UK acca, but if you stick to big European teams then it won't really stick out

Use the 'no-lay' acca tool for these.

This can be an issue. Ladbrokes are usually the best for these. I wouldn't do one with a high QL though

Thank you for your quick answers [member=4240]jkg-jkg[/member] :)

I will probably look at doing a Sequential Locked-in Acca then with maybe 1 or 2 international legs.

Still not sure about the normal Acca as the 'no-lay' tool still shows up the free bet etc. offers on the bookies?

I don't intend to try any with a high QL, so will give the Lay at Start method a miss, unless I can find a good one.

I would have liked to try all the methods, to see which I get on best with but only have until Tuesday before my trial finishes and it looks like the weekend is best for matches of course.

Many thanks

The no lay method relies on the fact that a certain number of times you will get the free bet and also the acca will actually win sometimes too. If you are using a tool to pick the legs then a standard acca (where you are looking at laying all the legs etc) will not look any more 'muggy' than the next. A mug acca would be one that can't get the offer (e.g. 4 legs not 5), so I pointed you at that tool so you can play with the number of legs etc. All the tools are good for that but as this one is biased more towards winning accas then it may produce a better match.

For the lay-all this is definitely true. SportingBet need all the legs to settle on the same day so is a good candidate for a lay-all, but Saturday or Sunday morning is the best time to check these. You should usually expect to be making a small loss on one leg losing with these as that is the way the lay figures get calculated (zero legs or two legs losing is where you make the money).

There are only two main types anyway (excluding not laying at all), the lock-in is a variant of the standard sequential anyway

Hi all,
One thing I think is worth noting with sequentially laying ACCAs is the potential for the later legs to drift out (the odds can also obviously shorten!) so it's best to perhaps stick to lower odds for sequentials.

Also, with no-lay ACCAs you are essentially GAMBLING (admittedly with already made MBing profit), so I am slightly alarmed at the talk on OM etc of £25-50 stakes to start. Certainly I think it's best to start with £5ish stakes at first to get a feel for ACCAs in general.

What's an acca, an accumulator? Isn't that more risky, or is the aim to still benefit from an offer?

Acca offers are something we take advantage of while doing Matched betting

We basically lay all legs and hope that 1 leg loses and then triggers the refund so we get a £25/£50 free bet out of it to use.

So you want to deliberately lose?

Also what's 'SNR', I keep reading it as signal-to-noise ratio, lol.

When I sign up to the bookies websies, can I use something like Swagbucks which gives me a reward for signing up, or are there other sign-up offers I should use (or not).

SNR Is Stake not Returned

With accas if you do them 'normal' you want one leg to lose
if you do 'LOCK IN' method then it doesn't matter what happens as you make money from the acca no matter what.

Again all these thing will be shown and explained to you as you carry on matched betting with PA

In terms of signing up I would probably use TCB or QuidCO as they have some fantastic deals for signing up with bookies via them

Would signing up via TCB or QuidCo negate any free bet sign up offer that the bookie is offering?

Thanks for answer all my questions.

What unearth are no lay accas @rninja ?

Jon,
A no-lay acca is where you look for descent odds on say 5 different selections where there is an acca insurance offer and basically mug punt. The idea is to take advantage of the positive expected value that you'll get a refund if 1 selection loses, or that you're taking long-term value and will be in profit over time.
I personally only do small stakes of these with profit already earned from risk free matched betting.

Jon,
For this example, this would be a "lay all at start" acca. You'd want low odds I.e. As close to the minimum odds for the relevant acca insurance offer. You just lay each selection for say £10 each if you did a £10 acca. If all selections win you'll likely make a small profit, If 1 selection loses you wager your free bet as a normal SNR free bet, if 2 or more selections lose you'll likely make even more profit due to several of your lay bets winning!
