So, I've finally got a job with this company, although in a different role.

I'm now working for the 'Parsnip and Pears' project, which is calling people asking if they'd like to try a veg box from a local farm. It's the same hourly rate, and I start on Monday.

It's minimum wage I think - so £6.31?

There is talk of sales bonuses coming in soon.

And the hours at the moment are only 14 per week (Monday-Thursday) 15.00-19.30, although I think the days and hours are going to be increased over time.

Still...that's like £350 odd per month that I could do with!

Okay so that went terribly.

I left after an hour and a half. I've never felt so down about working in my life. Utterly soul destroying - and that's even after been congratulated by the boss for getting someone to buy TWO things. It was an endless stream of rejection and sadness.

Back to the drawing board.

Hardly anyone is interesting - people are rude, hang up, arsey, the lot. Even the nice people don't care about buying anything over the phone. I found myself hoping I'd get through to an answer machine.

Maybe someone on here would love this job, but for 6 quid an hour, I'd rather go around doing all the Roamlers!!

Well you gave it a shot!

Call calling isn't for everyone (and that comes from someone who did outbound calls for HBOS) so I completely see how it can depress you.

For every shit call I made I had a good team to cheer me up..

Home working never gives you that benefit sadly so it's very hard to normalize things.
