Apologies if already covered. Payoneer (sent there by Appen) need me to answer a load of questions about my 'business' before my account can be verified.

I never told them I had a business so I'm wondering if everyone else had these questions and how they answered them.

Yeah I had to answer those a few weeks ago and was quite confused, too.

I can't remember what the questions were specifically, but for the website ones I just put the URL for connect.appen website. Just choose the options which are closest to you, even if not completely accurate.

It was all accepted immediately after so they didn't check manually.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but have any of you who work for Appen, or any other company that pays in USD, found a way to withdraw or convert your earnings without being hit by Paypal's awful currency conversion rates? or at least found a way to minimise the hit?

I transfer my earnings to https://wise.com/ , which is free to do, then into my bank from there. The exchange rate is much better. Don't forget to put any fees down as an expense on your tax return too.

I looked into this as I saw someone suggest it elsewhere, but it looks like Paypal have made it nigh on impossible for UK accounts to add Wise accounts now. Can I ask when you set it up?

trying to apply for one of the Appen projects which requires my windows live id and also a verification code. I don't get a verification code when I sign into windows live, where would I get a verification code to apply to the Appen application

I set it up last year. Paypal isn't involved at all for me - I transfer it from western union straight into Wise. Is that an option for you?

Oh and I meant the exchange rate is better, not interest rate :ROFLMAO:

Western Union isn't involved for me? I thought Appen only paid people via Payoneer now?

I set it up so that the money goes straight from Payoneer into Paypal when Appen changed to using Payoneer (I think this was some time ago - I can't remember doing it but it must have been what they recommended at the change over time). So when Appen pay me, it goes into Payoneer then straight to my Paypal account.

I would love to use Wise to convert, but as far as I can see Paypal have made it extremely difficult to add a USD Wise account onto a UK Paypal account and from my research so far, the same seems true of Payoneer. So I'm a bit stuck!

Project Amur
Looks like Prohect Amur is off at the moment, it was listed in all projects last week but not now.. Do you need an insta account for this? I think I noticed it when I first read the details but I don't have an account. If its needed for Amur, ill set one up though

Amur project is currently listed under all projects. I don't know if you definitely need an insta account, but on a recent questionnaire I had to fill in, they did ask for my user name.

I've spent the last 2 days faffing about and plucking up the courage to start shopping in the Amur project, which I've never done before. Part of my procrastination is going over the guidelines again - and now I've terrified myself.

Can I assume that it's more straightforward than I'm imagining? I'm just worried that it's so complicated that I'm going to be left with a load of tat I can't get refunded for. Thanks

Is this the task that's the same as the one on Lionbridge

If so, yes you might, but hopefully you can refund as much as possible from it and make a good few hundred

Sorry, I meant reimbursed by Appen. It seems to be similar to the one on Lionbridge. I just wonder if the guidelines make it appear harder than it really is.
