Tasks are assigned a rate per HIT. Typically ranging from 0.01 - 0.15 per HIT submitted.

Is this worth my time jon?
honestly no idea. Not done this kind of work with Appen before..

Why not give it a go and see how much it pays you for an hours work. If you're happy, carry on, if not then dump it!

You don’t need to travel this time lol

Hello,

There is currently a UK English Voice Rating Project with Appen.

The payment for this project is AUD $25 and will take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to complete.

The work involves listening to different UK English machine voices, and rating them based on how natural they sound, as well as providing written feedback.

To express your interest, please complete this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1oTX4IrReGQ20s9yQACCKPjZKRyzKiY7QM3NgMdGXj5Y

Please note:

1. You must have an active Appen account to complete work;

2. Payments are only processed via PayPal or Skrill for this project.

3. Users are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis, as well as based on demographic requirements.

You will be contacted if your application is successful.
I completed this one yesterday. Although it says you'll be paid a 'custom lump sum'. So I have no idea what I will get!

Hi everyone,

So little update:

I had an email from Appen saying Congratulations and that I was on pace to start qualification and that someone would contact me on the 26th.

Actually had an email on 25th and read through all the material and completed the qualification quiz (20 questions).

Logged in today to see there was a SOW that I electronically signed and there were then further documents for me to read through but I'm not sure what happens next?

Does this mean I have been accepted for the work? How is the software added to your account to start the rating work?

Thanks in advance! xx

I did this qualification.

It was about 2 hours work and seemed a lot like about as much information as they would need from me.

I then get an email today thanking me for the work I did and that I would get a Paypal payment.

I have done no work other then the 2 hours of qualification as no Paypal payment has been made.

Slightly concerned that I have been duiped into doing 2 hours of free work...

How long do you have to wait to hear from Appen, I applied around February for a couple of their jobs. Had an e mail asking how many Facebook friends I had in June time, replied back but heard nothing since.

It varied from task to task sadly

All you can do is crack on with other high paying online work in the mean time!

Applied about a year ago and got an email about a project today. 2 hour trial first which I'll look into.

I'm doubtful its for me but would be crazy to dismiss it totally. Few questions - can you just do whatever hours you wish or do they give you set hours? I work but could maybe do this around it.

And I'm away for a few days in September. What would happen there?

I have been working for them for about five months now and booked a family holiday with my earnings. It is such easy work, boring but easy. I work for an hour a day and doesn't even have to be in one sitting. I tend to do mine in the evenings when I get the kids to bed. I went away for a few days but I just did the work as didn't take long and you can have two days off a week if needed. I think you can also mail them to state you can't work for a few days. And once you work with them they offer you other odd jobs. I have done one and got £15 for an hour and a half work and doing another one on Monday.
I personally think it is really worth it.

Good luck :)

I paid for an entire Centre Parcs holiday one year at Christmas time with nothing but Appen money!! It really does add up (and very quickly!)

The hours will depend on which project it is - they have a few different ones.

As for going away, there's no problem. You would just let them know (there's an area on the website where you can enter your absences).
