What’s the best projects to apply for please guys? I’ve just logged in for the first time in ages and under My Projects I have Harperth, Newskah and Nipigon.
Apply for everything you think you can do but do check the requirements no point in applying for a project that needs a Mac system or a linguistics qualification.

Anyone had any surveys to do this week? Don't think I've had any since Monday.

Brilliant. I have only been doing it today. The instructions are bonkers(as per). So I am tracking my time with a timer. It says RPH has to be 60 I think... I am racking up so much more than that. What am I doing wrong?

You are not supposed to mention project names or the tools and client. It's in your NDA that you signed. Be careful it's best to be generic in what you say.

The timings are a bit generous, but you need to be inline with what they expect or you could be removed, slow down.

New Appen project - 20/30 hours a week commitment. Just wondering if this is the same as my current Lionbridge SME job, - my year is up in May but let's say my some HUGE quirk of fate I get accepted for this one, will they also realise about my Lionbridge job
PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Sutherland consists of various tasks focusing on improving the accuracy of our client’s tooling. Consultants will be selecting entities from various document types.

Web Search evaluators work 4-6 hours a day (Saturday through Friday) depending on current project opening opportunity. Evaluators commit to be available to complete a minimum of 20 production hours each week when data is available.
I've just finished my year with Lionbridge & have applied for the Search Evaluator job, through to the next part of the assessment, really hope i get on it as I'm missing my SME money. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Can anyone please help me....
Do Appen let you know if your work was good enough or not? I'm new to Appen and did my first work for them almost a week ago. It was Harpeth, the speech recording project. However, I have not heard anything since I submitted it. No email or anything when I log on to Appen. I'm worried my work wasn't good enough. What normally happens next? Thank you
Ive done this one and so has @Jute We were both convinced we had done it wrong - Jute got a confirmation next day that it had been accepted. I never got the email so I messaged them, got a reply about a week later saying it has been successfully reviewed.
Ive only just started to bother with Appen with my Lionbridge project ending soon but already its obvious that you have to make a note of what you've done, which ones are auto generated payments, which are submitted invoices etc.

You might want to edit your post!

They do scan the internet and I know people have been caught in the past.
I don't get this. If someone is posting on here with a pseudonym. How could they possibly identify that person as someone on one of their projects? On my username here, they wouldn't have a clue who I was.

well in past on the green site some people used the same nickname or part of email address etc and Butler hill as they were then found them and terminated their contracts.

Not only that- you are breaking the NDA talking about project names and sites used, so you are opening yourself up to a can of worms. It's best to talk about everything generic, you don't know how many people are in each market for any project- for all we know the UK is say 10! so not too hard to track someone-( its prob way higher than that), I am just saying don't break the NDA you signed or be prepared for the consequences if you do.

Also I don't think TMS wants the wrath of Appen on his back - though that's very unlikely.

Thank you for your help. I will email them. Also, if it is approved how would I get paid for this? I know Appen use payoneer but I have never been asked for any payments details from appen. As this is my first project I have done from them I am unsure about payment. If my work is approved will they ask for payment details? Thank you

The first invoices of the month went out today. Is it not on there? Sometimes they're a little behind with auto-loading them.

Yes, I get the bit about NDAs and not mentioning projects but I thought you'd discovered a supernatural power that they'd acquired for finding out where you live...

IP address can be tracked I suppose, I dunno, I'm not techy I shouted at my car radio today as it wouldn't do what I wanted. I doubt they would go to much effort but at the same time I would not risk it.

Everything is one sided with these companies and everyone is expandable.

If you can get on a long term project with appen you have the ability to make a lot of cash, but some projects run a lot more smooth than others, more recently they have all these micro projects which can be a PITA.

The support at Appen is useless. im on that news survey - last week I accidentally clicked 'yes I was able to complete the survey' instead of the clicking the link to it. That took me straight to the submission page, unable to get back onto the link page. Got another survey invite this week the same project and despite VERY carefully clicking the correct link, its defaulting to the submission page for the new survey. Could try clearing cache etc but if I do that it could interfere with my Lionbridge settings and that would be more than annoying!

Also @Jute - did you get another invite for Haroeth. Im not sure if we can do it again even with an invite email .

Appen - arses and elbows etc....

Yes I did but I haven't done anything about it yet. I thought we couldn't do it again either.

People on chat are tearing their hair out on the one I'm trying (in vain) to do over lack of work (even though there's a min hours requirement) and staring at the wheel of death because nothing's loading. Everyone's metrics are wrong and support is studiously ignoring everyone. It's a shame because it's well-paid but I don't think I've cut the mustard and it's not my fault and will probably get chucked off. It's also self-reporting on the invoice which is turning into another nightmare on chat from what I can tell.

I don't know what's going on with them but something's very wrong indeed.

I would ignore the Chat, people get tied up on there over simple things. The self reporting on that project is a bit of a mess - but at the worst they will reject your invoice tell you what you need to put down and payment may - or may not be delayed a month.
