Cheltenham last year was the first time I had ever done a £500+ deposit (into an exchange of course), I don't do them very often as I usually keep a large float in the exchanges these days (just checked and I have £3k+ floating in 3 exchanges - mad really but quite normal for MB)

If you pick a bet in Sportsbook, it should come up with an option somewhere on the betslip for you to use the freebet. If it doesn't show up it may be because the bet you are trying to do is not eligible e.g. you have to do it on a footie bet etc. if that was in the t&cs for that offer. I didn't do the offer, so not sure if there were any 'rules'.See if any of that helps you.

Free bets look a bit different on Betfair (and Paddy Power - same website engine now), it's not a free bet per se, you tick the option under the bet saying 'Use Available Bonus'.

What strategy do people use when doing these? Keep backing one number and hope it comes in? Red or Black?
I normally do double streets and stop if I get a profit early on. More often than not though, I end up with the refund.

I think I did this one, the freebet has to be used on a multiple (double or higher). If you add two selections to the betslip it should appear if it's the same offer I did. You can do two games a day or two apart to help with laying it.

I would also check the time limit on using the free bet - the £10 Sportsbook for a free £5 bet I did recently had to be placed on a multiple bet e.g. double/treble/acca and I think I had to place it within 48 hours of receiving it.
I have a Word document which I save a (dated) copy of every day and in it at the top are my current free bets and underneath the offers I am betting on today. Today was small as I just had a couple of free bets and a few 2UP offers, but last Saturday's had 3 free bets, two casino offers and 15 betting offers (and 2UP although I was betting on 5 matches only counts as one of those)
PS I also make a lot of use of Outlook reminders

Something strange going on here - Hezzy's post about missing the free bet time limit disappeared, so I deleted my reply to it, as it then looked out of context.
jkg-jkg has just responded to my reply though, so I will include it again below, in case anyone is wondering what on earth we are all going on about, ha ha!

Trouble is I find it time-consuming enough just to update my bet details onto a spreadsheet - and I don't do many at the moment.I use my mobile phone quite a bit for normal day to day reminders though, I'm useless at remembering stuff.
It gets easier as you get into a bit of a rhythm (it takes me maybe 10-20s to log a bet in Ultimatcher) and, of course, with the number I do the overhead becomes proportionately a lot less (and if you just miss one £5 bet then that is 30mins cost if you were getting the minimum wage - so keeps it in perspective)That's a good idea @jkg-jkg
