Is there anything I can do now that the bookies odds have changed since placing the lay bet? Skybet worked better on IE but I had to use my phone in the end and the way it looks is that I will lose on a free bet? Thanks

Maybe save your free bet and back else where if you can find closer odds as a normal bet so you lose less?

I back first and then lay after checking the lay odds again. If the lay odds change input new lay odd in calculator before laying.

Thanks - I have done that in the past, but this time it was the bookies odds that changed so I think I am stuck with it.

Never place your Lay bet first. Never. Due to your liability being potentially high (especially on Free Bets), it's too risky as you can end up massively out of pocket. Far Far worse than anything you'd lose if there was an odds drift after placing your Back bet.

I hope you don't get hit too badly in the pocket!

I think the last time I got offered £50 from them was when England were playing in the Euros 2 years ago

FYI the £50 is reserved for accounts with 0 limits pretty much. You'll naturally move down to £25, and then £10 and even sometimes £5 when you're well on the radar. Betting big doesn't seem to have any impact.
