Reminds me of when I was in Monaco near the casino and two guys came out. Their conversation was like this:
Man A: Shall we go back?
Man B: I'm tempted to go back in and just put £0.5m on black.
Man A: Ok I'll meet you back there.
Man B: OK - I'll take the helicopter.
get to the chopaaaaa

Sadly this is part of jump racing, all the trainers, owners, jockey etc know this when they get into the sport.

I would say flat racing is far safer but I still remember at york one horse I bet on keeled over when it was in the trap waiting for the off!
This is a big reason why I'm not a massive fan... the trainers etc know the risk but perhaps the horses don't!

I didn't mean to be callous when he fell earlier; it just seems to me the amount of shits the racing community gives about a horse death is directly correlated to how much money it was making people...

I'm sure they could reduce the height of the jumps and reduce injuries/deaths but I'm sure racing purist could tell me why that's a terrible idea and would ruin racing or whatever...

They did that for the Grand National. They moved where the first jump was back a lot further as it was just a car crash when they were all togeather and all jumping the same fence at the same time
