Premier league is back but not many games :(
You all want to focus on the ITV races for the next few weeks and build those racing profiles for Cheltenham!

I'm ok with the concept of betting on football Jon but the horses worry me - what should I be focussing on as a newbie - 2nd place refunds, boosts, bet x get y?

Horses are actually easier than football

will a horse win a race can only ever have a yes or no outcome

will a horse come second will again only have a yes / no out come

I would suggest doing the bet365 offer where you bet on horses that are above 5.0 odds at the off and hope they win so a simple back and lay.
use match catcher on PA (or whatever the Oddsmonkey equivalent is) and your qualifying loss will be a few pence each time and then just hope for the best

you can bet up to £50 (so you would then get a £50 free bet) but for your first Saturday I would just do £5 bets to get a hang of it all

It’s honestly a piece of pie and like I said far easier than football in terms of the outcome!
Last question I promise.

Should I back all the horses above 5.0's in that race (losing pennies on the lay for each) or just the one or two? If all my balance might need topping up :)

I personally just do one horse with the bet365 offer

Am I the only one who didn't know Totesport had gone? Its been rebranded and only does the Tote side of things now, no sports betting.

I never got an email from them or anything.

Yeah I got an email about it a while back

to be fair, growing up that was how I knew THE TOTE at the racetrack

I’m not sure sure I understand why it even exists for on course betting unless it’s for people who feel intimidated by the betting ring

Well I hope you withdrew all you money first because I've just had to go through KYC again with them, verify email, make a new deposit to verify my card and only then could I withdraw my cash. Wasted over half an hour doing this. *grumbly face*

I'd like to make a nomination for crappiest offer of the year award.

Betaq 0% commission.

"All current and future customers will see the benefit of 0% commission"
and then it says
"with football, horse racing, greyhound racing and cricket the only ones not included."

Only the 4 most bet on sports not included then.

Taken the plunge and giving match betting a go despite my reservations. Going very slowly but it's going ok. Hit a bump today and ended up having to do two trigger bets as forgot to press opt in to get the free bets  the first time round! Live and learn.

Snow is coming!!!
Took me all morning to send an email to a potential client because I was nervous about the amount of money I was asking for. Pretty sure this never happens to men.
