Agree I much prefer the Oddsmonkey user interface too
I think i'm just nervous because i've only been back doing matched betting for a few weeks and am familiar with the PA layout-how much is OM per month?

£17.99 a month but they do a trial like PA for £1 for 7 days.

In honesty the tools and content are very similar to PA so it might well just be personal preference (possibly depending on which site you start and are familiar with).

oh really? Would you mind telling me the differences between the two?
Difficult to give a list as the Acca Matchers are quite different (but the OM is better and has more bookies). Also the Oddsmatcher is better and they have a Dutch Matcher and Each Way Matcher.
Does odd monkey do signup offers too, or would I be better sticking with PA until i complete their signup offers?
My standard advice would be to complete the first page of the sign-up offers on the PA site before trying out OM.

Ok, so my keyboard didn't like me when i went to place a lay of 9.77 and it laid at 9.00 instead. I thought i should cash out as it meant i would only lose 8p and then i thought i could re-lay at the correct amount, rather than sticking with the 9.00 and having a bigger qualifying loss. I don't think it works like that because i now have a lay and a back bet waiting-is that right? Could i now go ahead and do the original lay i wanted to? So i would now have two lays (the right one and the wrong one) and then the cash out bet?

Yep sounds like you can lay the correct amount again now.

This is another reason not to use betfair as you can lay much smaller amounts on the other exchanges so you could have just laid another 77p and be done, but on betfair the minimum* it will accept is £2

*There actually is a way round it to lay smaller amounts but it is fiddly and awkward to explain.

Thank you so much,I was getting in a bit of a flap! I did see a video about laying less than 2 pound on Betfair but as you say it is pretty awkward! Now that I have some money moved back to my bank account I’m going to branch out and give another exchange a go,it’s just getting used to a new layout that puts me off but I need to do it-laying 77p would have been a lot less stressful!

I do see sometimes people mentioning cashing out-what would be the reasons for people doing this?

Another question about MB. I was about to use an offer - bet £10 and get a refund if it loses. I assumed it was the "Refund If" calculator but got confused at the bottom. I filled in down to where it said "if" but then could not understand what has to go in the bottom lay odds box

Usually its because the criteria for an offer part of a bet has been triggered inplay, so you can lock in some profit by cashing out some of your money on the exchange.

If you want to try smarkets, I have a referral code to get £10 risk free: nepo68

If its a cash refund use a normal calculator set to 'free bet stake not returned'. That will give you an equal profit win or lose.

@homie, don't want to put a downer on your referral - especially as you are very helpful on here - BUT do people still qualify for the current 0% Commission with PA and OM if they go via a referral for the £10 bonus?

Hi Knopfler. Yes, you would still qualify because you link your account for the OM or PA 0% offer after you have registered. Its completely separate from the sign up process.

The big one to remember is you can't use paypal on smarkets for any of their offers. If you deposit with paypal you cant get the 0%

Hi, @homie - that's great. I'm already with all the Exchanges, it was just for newbies to know - I couldn't see any info at Smarkets without delving deeper

P.S. NEWBIES - best NOT to use Betfair Exchange when doing Paddy bets as they are merged. Some people do but I prefer not to, just in case!

Oh ye of little faith. I have money on them to win (although it is because they are at home to a team that played in the week - so a classic 2UP candidate)

i actually joined it ages ago but just never used it, but hopefully someone finds your referral code helpful :)

how do you get the 0% on smarkets, is it something you have to opt into?
