Okay guys....I'm jumping in after reading about MB for weeks....I've signed up to PA but I imagine it will be tomorrow by the time I'm brave enough to actally make the first qualifying bet. Just reading/watching PA info/experimenting with calculators just now. Also exploring cashback offers to maximise on sign-up profit (aware I have to be careful I still meet requirements for the free bet). I know it's supposed to be 'safe' but the liability values can still be a bit scary!

Enjoy the thousands of pounds you wouldn’t have made otherwise :)

o_O

For now, a MB contribution towards the cost of fixing my car would be nice... Never had a problem, although it's older, but this is now the second (unrelated) breakdown in 4 weeks

There will be a day when you will get a bit blasé about the liability figure. I had around £1500 of liability riding on the horses today (a bit low as it is usually around £2k) and I expect @Jon was the same. You will build up to it slowly (I SAID SLOWLY!!! - best piece of advice you will ever get regarding MB is to take it slowing and don't get greedy), and this time next year you won't even blink at a liability of £500+

I think I will be more comfortable when I've seen it work. I can practically see that there is no way it can't, but still! I'm a cautious person ;)

I've placed my first qualifying bet and received the £20 free; I'm going to leave placing that until tomorrow. I'm an anxious person and I know that despite logic saying it's safe, I'm going to worry over the liability - so I might as well not commit that money earlier than I need to and give myself a sleepless night lol! (I know how ridiculous that is!).

On the plus side, I've managed to tracked £5.25 cash back for PA sign up and £20 cashback for coral signup, so if that all gets paid out okay, I'm a few extra quid up before any MB profits :) (I've been holding off on the gambling site cashbacks, even though cashback is higher than spend, as I was anticipated possibly entering th MB foray and figured I'd make the most of all the offers!)

Thanks - I am with PA not with OM so will have to leave it.

PA have a bonus lock in calculator which you can use for scenarios where you only get a free bet if your qualifying bet loses (there is an option for when you get a bet when your qualifying bet wins but i've not used that yet)

G'ah. Backed the wrong side for 2up again. Could be a good one for liverpool backers if Man City get one back.

Liverpool are gonna win this 9-0!
What does my head in is that Liverpool's odds were on the way up all morning and were 2.9 (having been 2.6 earlier in the week) at kick off with Man City being 2.6. But Man City are the ones with a back up goalkeeper and that idiot Stones in the back 4, and Liverpool are top of the league and are at home (and didn't lose to a certain team that play in yellow ;)). What was it that bookies were seeing that I wasn't !!!!!! As it happens I am nicely cashed out on 2UP for a small profit, with some big money if Man City do get their act together :D

I completed the first offer successfully today. Tempting to crack on but I'm playing with the calculator a bit instead for now. I'm trying manually calculating loss and profit in conjunction with the calculator to be sure I have my head around it all.

Thanks for the inspiration guys :)

You'll be fine! Trust me, once you've started you will wonder why you haven't started Matched Betting sooner instead of doing low paying surveys etc ;)

Haha we’ll see... I’m not sure the anxiety is going to reduce enough to speed things up sufficiently for it to become significantly profitable use of time but time will tell ha!

As your bankroll increases (which it will do) you will then worry a lot less as you are just using your profit to continue making money from it ;)

Plus as time goes on you will get more and more confident with it all!

Thanks, hopefully.

Regarding the smarkets join offer of a refund of your first £10 loss, PA recommend backing at smarkets, and laying elsewhere, to profit approx £7.50. I can't find any info in the t&c's anywhere that indicate they will only refund losses on a back bet, and not on a liability loss. If they will, then it makes more sense to me to utilise this offer at the same time as a free bet elsewhere, lay at smarkets - if back wins, you lose your liability (which is accounted for in your matched win, with profit left over), but are refunded £10, reducing your loss and increasing net gain across the bet by the full £10. If your smarkets lay wins, you gain profit of the smarkets stake, and your smarkets loss offer is intact for future....

Anybody know if that's viable? I know its only a few quid but it all adds up right. It's probably better to go with the recommended suggestion to be sure of something, but I thought I'd investigate this too just in case.

When I signed-up to Smarkets (although it was 3 years ago now) I didn't know about the £10 and had placed a lay bet already. But when it (luckily) lost they did refund me on that lay bet so if the T&Cs haven't changed then it should still work.

I have to admit I was the same 3 years ago but £47k later tends to suggest I was worrying too much !!!! :D

that is an insane amount! Did you stick with betting or did you do any casino offers? Been running through the casino offers on PA and making a few pounds here and there but today i lose 17 pounds (still have my bonus to come through but it needs wagers 25 times so not exactly feeling confident about making anything there!). I know its all about value over the time but when i'm only in my first few months of matched betting a 17 pound loss stings lol.

I do casino offers as well and maybe 15% of my monthly income comes from that. It is actually £37k directly from MB as I did get lucky for £10k on one of those Pick x Horses offers (but I wouldn't have done that offer unless I was doing MB). Bookies and Casino offers are not as good as they used to be, and I do a lot less horses these days due to restrictions, but I am still ticking over £750 - £1k a month
