[OT] Discussion about matched betting

I posted this earlier but appears to have disappeared so apologies if this is a duplicate post
Another (kinda still sort of) newbie question
I have reached the "advanced" offers on PA and there is a thing about "Skrill" I gather it is a quicker way to move money from bookie to bookie without the long wait to draw back to your bank.
So I have signed up, but, can't seem to find an instruction on how to actually use it?? I try to move funds from a few bookies to it but the bookies only appear to allow me to withdraw back to my bank card used to deposit?? Any ideas if I am just missing something silly and obvious here?

You can only withdraw from the bookies by the method you deposited with.
So if you deposit via your Debit Card you can only withdraw to that.
You have to deposit via Skrill then you can withdraw using Skrill.

Ahh....penny drops now... so i really need to withdraw all back to my bank then dump the lot in Skrill then deposit back into bookies from Skrill... which I assume all bookies accept?

If you use skrill for offers you will find some only want you to deposit using a debit card

Yes all bookies accept it

But you will validate yourself out of some offers by using it to deposit money

That is what I am doing using the Debit Card and not Skrill. It is what most people are sticking to like Jon who are making decent money from MB.

So a relatively decent weekend for me starting with a nice £15 profit from a Betfair slot offer on Friday.. a £20 free bet for 2nd to the SP fave with paddy (although my free bet won at odds of 8.0), 888 GMM bringing in £15 for tomorrow, did the Hills and Sky footy offers and a few price boosts. After a very bleak start to the month and year (i nearly quit) i am now over £120 up for the month with plenty of time to go.

The focus for me now is to build my bankroll so i can do more offers and make more money. I spent over 1k of it over christmas which i somewhat regret now. I aim to not spend anymore.

Regards the bet and spin offer at betstars.. it really isn't worth it unless you're looking to mug them as you might get lucky. The tims they give you 1x will mean you effectively end up taking crap odds.

On the subject of mugging; stop over thinking it. You could do everything by the book and still get banned, or arb and take all the free bets you want and manage to survive.

The only thing that matters is value. Taking matches of 1.5/1.52 is not a mug. Personally all i do is:

- Bet on big games on match odds with odds of 0.05 apart at least.
- unlayed small stakes accas
- spinning through £10 in the slots
- random in plays for small stakes.. unlayed and while at the pub with my mates.

I agree. Although it does require a decent amount of time to be put in (to make anything significant ), discipline and mistakes can and do happen which can sometimes have a very negative impact. But keep a good mind set and you can't go wrong.

Technically it takes the same amount of time to deposit as to withdraw but you get the funds on a sort of honour system as it were. Don't know why they can't do the same with withdrawal mind!

I signed up to Skrill but now I'm a month in and my bank is mainly in the exchange I think I'm just going to stick with debit card. I don't think you're at any disadvantage with a debit card despite PA's posturing!

After Chelsea cost me £32 in potential unlaid mini acca winnings I shoved a random treble on from the homepage "popular bets" while I was doing my accounts and won £11. Nice end to the weekend

Indeed. January is not a good month for me but £200 extra (so far) is £200 extra ;D and just doing the SkyBet bet club pays for the subscription to PA.

checking the results from my weekend of MB and 2 of my bets came in at bookies. I've withdrawn some cash back to my bank to use to open other accounts, but I'm leaving a sum (£20) in each so they look like I'll be coming back. Is that the right thing to do?

Sporting bets offer place 10 £10 bets got me £100 in the bookie, withdrew £75.00 and left the rest in there. My thinking is if you are leaving cash in there you are going to be back for more betting and if they look at your account if its new when you make the withdrawl it cant do any harm for when the traders scrutinise it. And always handy in some bookies to have a stash in your account for up and coming offers.

At WillHill can you transfer your money from SB to casino and visa versa? TCB are offering £12.12 if you wager and bet £10 on the SB but £40 if I deposit & wager £25 in the vegas casino. My thinking is to get the CB from the casino and then, once i've completed the wagering requirement, transfer my MASSIVE WINNINGS over to the SB to use them to MB. Wow! thats a lot of acronyms!
