Hi guys,

I'm sure most of you guys have heard of matched betting. I was just browsing the forum and there doesn't seem to be much discussion about it. From my own discussion with uni friends, people who try it often stop either because it is too difficult or because they 'run out' of bookies. I want to know your thoughts on the topic.

There are plenty of offers out there! (you can't run out) There are weekly free bets, casino offers and bonuses, acca refunds etc. These can all be turned into profit. I really want to understand why more people don't do matched betting. It is still a small proportion of people who do it or know about it.

I have made a website which guides people through matched betting with a few other friends. (I will happily remove link if external links are not allowed). We gathered most of the bookie offers and wrote out guides for most bookie offers (both sportsbook and casino) on how to make profit on each offer. We want to teach people exactly how to do it and also provide continual support. We also aim to constantly update so offers never 'run out'.

Please let me know of your thoughts. What are the issues you see with matched betting? Have you tried it? What is stopping you? This will help me improve my site and also learn etc.

Re: Discussion about matched betting

Don't know much about matched betting and not really inclined to start looking into it but thought I'd mention that you're completely welcome to post links and referral links to sites that you own or are joined to.

I think once you reach 10 posts (correct me if I'm wrong anyone) then you can put links in your signature so that they'll appear on every post you make :)

Thanks for the info. Yeah I own the site. May I know why you aren't inclined. You don't need to answer if its just a personal reason.

I don't do it as I don't have the startup required to do it

Every uni student around seems to be trying to flog their "concept" for matched betting but they are all essentially the same thing

Also it leaves a bad taste in my mouth regarding those giving our their advice or "amazing method" - multiprofits for example signed up to talk about their system for matched betting and then made a second user with the same location / ISp as multiprofits and pretended they didn't know much about matched betting but magically wanted to know about multiprofits

Mostly because I don't like gambling sites and also because I feel I am the type of person that may get "hooked" by the excitement of winning and I cannot afford to let myself slip into possibly putting more money in (even though right now I feel I wouldn't do that)

I joined Geolotto with its 50 free digs a day as it's simple and quick to do, I also allow myself one flutter on the Grand National each year :)

Fair enough I understand what you mean, I felt the same way when i started in December but after a short while I don't really treat it as betting. I think of it as a job really and if you get hooked it is even better because the more work you put in the more money you make.

Yeah there aren't different methods. it's all the same thing. Don't worry I'm not here to do the same thing.

If I may ask, how much do you think you need to start?

Re: Discussion about matched betting

Matched betting is something we all know that you can do without having to sign up to paid for programs.

However, there are lots of other reputable business' that do offer services for things you can do yourself but they add value in some way. Where are you adding value? Your website is very thin and you mention a forum, but there is no link to it?

Thanks for the feedback. I think what stops most people from doing it is that they are not really confident with the concept and they are not confident because of the associated term 'betting'.

What me and my friends and I have done is that we have compiled all the various offers and written out guides for each offer on exactly what to do. Not all offers are the same so it is not simply a case of rinse and repeat. Also we are trying to help people out whenever they get stuck along the way. So I think that is where we add value. We literally guide you all the way and we are trying to build a community of people who are interested in doing it.

There is a free membership and you can try to earn around £80 by following our guides.

So answer your question we believe we add value by compiling all the offers and finding all the latest offers. Writing step-by-step guides and providing full support. From talking to people, we learnt that people were more willing to do it with constant support and step-by-step instructions

Re: Discussion about matched betting

I know exactly what matched betting is and whether I do it or have done it is irrelevant. The point I was making was simply that I think you need to beef up your website a bit if you're going to get people handing money over. Things like an 'about us' with who you guys are, genuine testimonials with names and photographs and somewhere on the site where people can contact you. People are very wary these days so your site has to come across as trustworthy. If you can do this, you'll find your conversion rates improve substantially.

This is worth a read:

This page

http://thematchedbet.co.uk/sign-up/

doesn't mention how much money you need to bet with to make said £500 a month

Why is that?

Re: Discussion about matched betting

I do matched betting but don't use any of the paid for subscriptions as I am unsure what value they would add (as another Shedder mentioned) to the free information already available on the web.

Yeah I understand what you mean. I was just asking those questions to understand the different reasons why people don't do it for my own research (I was not linking you not doing it with my site). We have an about us on the bottom of the home page. If you look on the homepage there is a contact link on the top right of the page. I admit we do not have any testimonials. Thanks for your feedback though!! :)

Why is that?

I think this is again part of why people don't do matched betting. There is not enough information to guide people step-by-step. There isn't a set amount of 'capital' you need to make £500 or any other amount. If you start with a low amount, lets say £50 you would be initially slow as you won't have enough money to place several bets at once. But as you build up your bank it gets easier and you reach your targets faster. Obviously if you started with more, you have enough money to place several bets at once. I started with around £50 in December and I have brought that to over a grand as of today. From my experience, if you start with low amounts at the start you just have to place more bets to build your bank. Hope I was helpful

Re: Discussion about matched betting

Right..

But, lets look at the Premium pack

It tells me £15 a month to you guys and I can make £500 a month

At no point on that screen does it talk about outlay to get that £500

You are probably just hoping that people go in blind and pay £15 on a recurring basis without realising how much they need to invest to get that £500 a month profit you have promised them

I just don't get why you wouldn't mention that sort of outlay is required

I would say the website is aimed at people who aren't confident placing the bets without any support. We have put a lot of effort into the site, we have written out guides, made videos, made excel spreadsheet, created forums for each offer, all to help newbies. Plus we always search for new offers to sustain profits.

You can all sign up for free and see what I am talking about. I understand what you guys mean, it's hard to see any value because most of the content is locked and not available till you register.

Oh I get where you are coming from. Yeah that is probably something we should do but it is quite difficult because again not everyone will make £500. Some will make more, some will make less it all depends how much work you put in following our guides.

Also again like I said there is no set amount of money you need to invest. But after you register we have a getting started guide page and we recommend people start with £50 like i did. But perhaps we should mention this on part of the unlocked content .

Please again could you please register and see the content yourself. From the looks of things, the website seems like it has no value but look through our starter package and look through the information we provide.
