HELP! Guys - I've just done my first ever study with PA and at the end they want me to enter my ID in order to be paid. Is this the ref number I copied at the beginning (where it says to preserve anonymity, if asked to enter an email address please paste this?)

No it is your Participant ID found in the middle under the Submit Study Code box. The other one is just if the researcher requires an e-mail address.

I think everyone had this issue. I tried it in Chrome, Safari and Firefox and same thing happened in all 3. I marked it as complete in the end just before it timed out, then finished it when it finally finished loading about 10 minutes after the cut off time and sent the confirmation code I received at the end manually, and sent a quick message to the researcher.

It ended up getting approved but no word back from the researcher.

edit: for something that was supposed to take 5-7 minutes, well, that didn't work.

Got an extra payment off them too for another £3 so wasn't bad overall.

Hi, @AlexHove Just got this one again an hour ago. The pages were still slow to load but not as bad as before. It timed out AGAIN, so with 4 seconds to go I took your advice and clicked on 'Completed'. I had to start the study from the beginning but was able to get to the end this time in around 12 minutes.

However I did not get a code on completion, or even a link back to Prolific. I have taken a screen shot though and messaged the Researcher.

I've just had my first rejection in 2 years of being with prolific  I've sent a message to the researcher as she said I've missed out vital answers, not sure if she will be able to tell me what I've done wrong but though it was worth an ask.

Thanks @Knopfler that's interesting to know. I got a response pretty quickly apparently I didn't answer question 6 or 17 which was vital. I have no way to prove if I did or not all I can say is that it's very unlike me to miss questions out so who knows.

I hate that people can just say we missed something, without showing us proof!!

Personally I would ALWAYS message Prolific to appeal, particularly if I was sure I wouldn't miss any questions out.

Hi,
I joined this and logged in last night quite late, there were a few surveys to do, and I thought, I'm tired I'll do those in the morning. This morning - logged in and nothing. Question is do they get done very quickly? I was hoping to pick up some work today but everything's gone ;-( I guess I should have burnt the midnight oil last night instead!

Yes, each survey on Prolific Academic has a required number of participants. You can see this in the survey info. As soon as all of these places are filled the survey ends. You need to act quickly and accept/complete surveys on Prolific Academic as soon as you see they are available.

I have a page notification set to check for changes every 15 minutes. Quite often, a study will come up with over a hundred places, and by the time my notification comes in, it's full. Time wise, they seem pretty random, although I do seem to remember someone saying that a fair few come in around midnight. Studies on P.A. are like buses- none for weeks and then loads in one day.

How do you do that, I have looked in PA settings and can't find anyway of doing it?

The page notification is a separate add on to your browser, nothing to do with P.A. I use one called update scanner, others use distill or visual ping. It depends on which one you find easiest to use. I'm sure someone will be along soon to recommend different ones.
It's useful for quite a lot of survey sites, saves having to constantly check to see if there's anything new.

I've got mine set to one minute refresh. Surveys get posted from universities all over the world so they can be posted to any time, even day or night and over the weekend. Trick is to keep checking the site and as soon as a survey appears do it as most only want a handful of participants (usually about 10).
