I had this on Friday all day but yesterday when I checked I managed to get a few surveys so seems to be ok now, no idea why it came up as been doing them for a few years too

I have had a lot recently. I know that is no help to you but I had a phase before when there was little or nothing.

Yes - they are trying to make their submissions process more secure. They only allow certain ISPs at the moment and unless you are with a top provider then you can't submit surveys anymore. I am blocked and can't submit any anymore. It's rubbish.

Hi..many thanks for your reply...did they give you any time limit when they might sort things out for ya...you said you're with Zen yep? what area are you from...I'm with KCOM and it's the ONLY internet we have in this area..(Hull, East Yorkshire) can't have BT or SKY..

Nope. You only get a boilerplate response from them (I'm in the south east, nearish to London). They keep emailing me surveys which I can't do. It's very irritating. I hate BT and refuse to use them at any cost. I'm with Zen for the amazing customer service and refuse to change :)

I have found that leaving a review on Trustpilot has got me a quicker reply than emails. As long as the company are active on Trustpilot. Prolific are.

I was having problems with a couple studies and they did not reply to me until the 4th email.

I am also getting a voice notification of a new study but no studies appear. This happens a lot now.


Some sites don't like low ratings and negative reviews, so they reply quicker on open review sites.

I had a problem with a retailer who I called, emailed and wrote to. They eventually replied on my trustpilot review.

Yep just got the standard email reply yesterday...
You may be experiencing problems accessing or receiving studies because your IP address is that of an Internet Service Provider which is not on our approved list (i.e. it is not an approved provider). This is not your fault and we are working to improve this and make all safe connections accessible on Prolific.

It's possible that you are on an ISP that was previously allowed to access studies but is no longer able to. This means that we are unable to identify your ISP from your IP address. As a result, we can't be sure that the internet connection you're using is not a VPN or public network, which could be used to disguise a user's location and thus bring into question the accuracy of the data that we provide to researchers. While you may not be using a VPN or similar, we do have to err on the side of caution.

For the time being, I'm afraid that you will not be able to participate in studies via this particular internet connection. We have made note of your ISP to be prioritised when we recommence assessing ISPs.

Please note that your account has not been placed on hold and you are still able to withdraw your earnings.

We apologise for this inconvenience.

Is Prolific down for anyone else today?
Yes, and yesterday afternoon it went mad and produced 19 studies at once, none of which allowed me to participate. I thought it was because I'd just that minute linked my LinkedIn account to it. I contacted support and they're having some glitches at the moment.

It's down again at, got 4 or 5 come through just like yesterday (19 for me to), which are of course not eligible for me anyway!

Down for me too. I saw the 19 studies yesterday and by the time I had thought WTF they had disappeared and Prolific went down.

Yeah they said they have a technical problem they are trying to fix now. It is working for me now, after hours of me seeing a blank page.

I keep getting the voice notification but no surveys appear, this has been happening for a couple weeks now.

Not had any surveys for days, and not had any previously completed surveys accepted either.

I had this issue in the past (I'm not with BT or any major provider) and emailed them to ask if my account was in good standing which they confirmed. Within few weeks, I was able to get surveys and have had no further problems.

Recently, I have had this error message again and when I refreshed the page, it allowed me to take the survey.

If your ISP is no longer approved (so you can't take any surveys), you can still take surveys if you log in through your phone data only. Would be ok if I actually got any reception in my house.... But might help others.

Anyone who had the same problems as me @MAX POWER , it is worth checking again. I logged on quite randomly recently and all my surveys are back! Maybe they actually processed my email and added the service provider to the list.
