This site is massively playing up for me today. Hasn't let me do a single survey that I'm eligible for as it says 'Only one participant per household'. No one else is completing them in this household so it's obviously a glitch. Very annoying. Anyone else having trouble?

I had the same issue over the weekend, if you email them they will sort it out. They say it is a known issue.

I had the same thing happen on one survey yesterday so I contacted PA and they sorted it.

Great to see a massive improvement in the speed of the site since Friday. It had become unusable & the difference is like night & day now.

One thing I have noticed is that more & more researchers not bothering to use the pre-screening questions & instead screening people out of surveys. Had it happen on the smoking one (I'm an ex-smoker, so that meant I was neither a smoker nor a non-smoker for there purposes) & now there's the Are you currently training for a Half-Marathon? study, which I'm showing as eligible for (& I'm not running any half marathons!). Have to say, I'm astonished at the sheer volume of Prolific users that ARE currently training for a half marathon... :-X

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to address some concerns raised here:

[member=3120]Falanouc[/member] [member=2166]bouboumum[/member] We don't normally block accounts or ask for IDs for only for being abroad. There normally has to be several reasons for an account to be flagged for ID verification. Normally these include inconsistent locations for extended periods, use of VPNs and/or changing of prescreening questions that shouldn't change over time (e.g. nationality/country of birth). Please understand why we have to be cautious - we attract a lot of fraudulent accounts and people who lie on their screeners. If we allowed these through researchers would quickly no longer trust the site and we wouldn't have any studies. As a results we're on the cautious side. [member=2166]bouboumum[/member] we'll update your ticket with the specifics.

[member=1325]fivecats[/member] you shouldn't be required to give your phone number email or any identifiable information to complete a study unless it says very clearly in advance that you'll have to do this. In this case the researcher did state pretty clearly that you'll need to complete an SMS task in advance but we can review the study if you'd like.

[member=3799]savealotte[/member] [member=300]niciqueen[/member] [member=117]Blackpepper1[/member] - this specific issue should be sorted now. Please let us know if not.

[member=694]ProlificAc[/member] thanks for your reply, and you're right, the researcher did state clearly that there was an SMS element to this study. What wasn't so clear was that on the first page, it said there was a 30p payment for the survey, and a 'bonus' for sending SMS messages in the next stage. It wasn't stated until the end that the survey wouldn't be paid unless you signed up to get these 'bonuses'. A single line stating that you had to do all parts would have made this really clear.

Yes, I also 'qualified' for the Half-Marathon study, but opted not to complete it as I'm definitely not training for any half-marathons! Researchers need to think about letting folk automatically qualify for their studies, in connection with offering a financial incentive!

Has anyone tried the Opinions and processing of information about the society study? When I opened it, Prolific took me straight to the completion page & I got a message saying I'd already completed the study & couldn't do it twice. Now I look in my completed studies list & it's there, showing as awaiting approval, even though I didn't even see the study itself!

Have messaged the researcher, just wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

Exactly the same happened to me. Didn't bother messaging the researcher but if you have any joy with that I may do so.

I had the same and opted to Return it as I didn't want the researcher to reject my submission and that affect my rating.

I had similar a few weeks ago and just left it. The researcher eventually contacted and said it didn't work but would be credited 20p for trying (not sure if it was). The duplicate (as they then reposted the survey) looks to have been removed now. Didn't affect my score.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The researcher has replied saying she'll look into it; if I hear anything more, I'll let you know.
