are we allowed to account for PayPal fees in our tax return? Or do we just report th figure received to PayPal?
I’m just factoring in the actual amount received as I don’t think PayPal show clearly how much they took in fees

Yes - claim ALL PayPal fees in your tax return. It’s your money, you earned it!

How do you see the fees to put as an expense? I haven’t put the $1 WorkMarket fee either as I’d have to be guesstimating the uk £ value ‍♀️

You can see fees in paypal transactions themselves

Or if you use software like FreeAgent as I do it picks them up there as well and will automatically clock them as 'banking fees' and auto add them to your tax return expenses

But I thought with workmarket payments we didn't get charged fees on the PayPal end, just at the Workmarket side

We get $1 withdrawal fee on WorkMarket side and 3% currency conversion fee in PayPal but I can’t seem to see the fee on PayPal I think it’s just hidden in the conversion rate.

You are typically done and dusted in a week or two

Money seems be refunded to you within 2 weeks

Is it even possible to send some of the stuff back to places like the US? A few of my items gave UK addresses on the sites, but the crap has come from the US and taken ages. Half my stuff is still in transit or at customs in US according to tracking emails.

Been trying myself, they use PO Box addresses. Best I’ve managed is 50% refund and not to return the piece of crap.

I sent something from the US back a couple of weeks ago for the other site. They had a handling warehouse/returns set up in the UK. I got the refund (including postage) so it can work. At £68 it was worth it.

Nice one lucky you. I`m just getting point-blank refusals and a lot of requests to take videos, and photos of packaging, order receipt, tracking number, and then still refusing as they state they sent what I ordered.

I had to send a woman's coat back to America, which cost me £20.55 to send back, Paypal covered £15 of that. Well worth it for an £82.98 coat and they paid me today. :)
