I notice Marketforce now expect you to do most shops for free, just the expenses paid - which i the case of wetherspoons has not increased in at least 5 years.

Then after nobody is doing them- they are bumping a fee on at last moment. A few in my area were showing 0.00 fee and then on Friday went to £9 - would have been better just to give a lower fee in the firstplace .
I noticed this too! The Five Guys assignments don't pay you anything for doing the job, you only get paid for the food you order and they don't even do a 100% reimbursement, so unless you work nearby and need to grab some food for lunch, it's not worth doing it. You are basically working for free. It's only when it's very close to the deadline that they pay out around £3 for doing the job, whereas before I remember that The Five Guys assignment fees were £7.50!

How do people find eMysteryShopper? I've just done my first one for them and though it's fairly straightforward, I thought that it was a lot of work for the amount they are paying.

It's not what it was let me say that

The days of copying and pasting the same answer into multiple query boxes over 30 surveys / shops as well gone!

They are dull, and the pay per hour is not great. I've just done my first one, and don't think I'll do too many more.

I've just started the Lionbridge online mystery shopper and much prefer it to eMysteryShopper tbh!
Is the Lionbridge mystery shopping task handy? It starts tomorrow for me. Do you just access it from Facebook on your laptop to see available apps?

Cool thanks. Once you have it installed and completed the first survey, can you then run it for 20 minutes and do the exit survey straight away or do you need to leave it for the 2 days?

Market force seem to be after more people again

Dear Jonathan,

Market Force continues to help high-street brands ensure that they deliver great experiences to their customers. Your eyes and ears in their locations are invaluable. We know you have not conducted any shops in several months and hope that you will consider engaging with us again.

Top reasons why?

1) Your opinions matter.
Our client takes the data you provide very seriously and makes decisions based on what you say.

2) You can put some money in your pocket—and get reimbursed for shopping at great restaurants and retail locations.

3) We’ve made it simple and easy to do shops with our Eyes:On app. Click here to see a demo

4) Its fun! Here are some quotes from current shoppers who enjoy the work.

“My mystery shopper job allows me to feel as if I am still a part of the business world and I know my evaluations are helping to improve customer service.” –Retired executive

“It gives me something very different and interesting to do on weekends and during my lunch hour. I consider mystery shopping to be my hobby.” –Administrative assistant

I see ESA now have an EXCITING online portal for this 'at home / online' mystery shops

A new way to find jobs in your area

Packed with features

We're excited to introduce a total re-design of our WebMS online portal.
It includes some great new features to help you find assignments available for you to complete today.
There is a separate job listing for online and telephone mystery shops, allowing you to earn money from the safety and convenience of your own home.
And once we are all out and about again, the new mobile-friendly design will allow you to search for jobs on the go, or to look further afield using the map feature.

Just wondered if anyone still does many in person mystery shops, since Covid started? What companies are you registered with and can recommend?

I can recommend ESA, Mystery Shoppers & Proinsight

I've recently completed a few dining out jobs where your meal has been reimbursed so I'm on the prowl in case there's anymore I can find-because who doesn't like a free meal out?! :)

You wont make any money with marketforce most jobs pay no fee and the expenses rarely cover the full purchase, but if you like pub and fast food its a good way to eat cheaply.

IPSOS Shopmetrics used to have some good shops and pay decent fees, Covid has impacted all mystery shopping though.

If you are doing it to make an income you will be disappointed,

Back in the day NOP just to pay mileage a fee and reimbursement for a full trolley of goods at a supermarket - and pay parking if needed, and you were on the payroll, those were the days!

You will probably find better paying 'mystery shop' type work on the likes of apps like Shepper, Roamler etc.

ESA Retail seem to have a load of phone call mystery shops tasks up at the moment

I'm getting in touch as I'm trying to assign an audio recorded visit to Oak FurnitureLand and you're receiving this email because at least one of the visits is within 30 miles of you!

The visit can take place any day of the week and we expect your conversation to start with you asking about payment options, then lead-times and then saying you do not want to pay in full whilst waiting so long to see what information they provide regarding their finance options.

There will be no credit check or taking out of products.

You will receive a £12 shopper fee and be sent a covert audio recording device which we will cover the postage costs for you to return to us.

-----

Apply vis their WebMS or you an can email them

Hi lovely Shedders,

Regarding the above message from @Jon about covert mystery shopping has any one ever done this? If so, what sort of device is used for audio recording? If anyone has experience of covert recording could they let me know the make of device that they used please.

I use covert recording from time to time for protection and to prove what people say to me if I need to. I have a device that I got from Amazon and it works well in an office or a meeting situation and blends in well. What I am looking for is something that has better recording abilities in a noisier environment and I guess that devises used in mystery shopping would be better than what I use at present.

In the meantime I will apply to ESA and see if they have anything in my area and hopefully I will get to know what they use for their recordings.

Thanks,

An-na

ESA usually provide the recording device. Is like a USB keyring

Hi @Chrislennon1

Thanks for that but I am not actually wanting to work for ESA I only want to know what types of covert recording devices they use and what other types are on the market that have good recording capabilities in a noisy environment, for example, walking down a high street, in a supermarket or in a coffee shop. This would be for personal use not mystery shopping. If I have to do some work for ESA or anyone else to find out what they use I certainly will.

Cheers,

An-na
