Received luncheon vouchers through the post today for my first survey ;D
So very quaint - I remember my dad getting them from work when I was little. I think I can use them at our very good chippy - yum!

Well I thought I'd put Waitrose to the test on Saturday and went armed with my £3 booklet of luncheon vouchers to see if they would be accepted.
Firstly I checked with the nice lady on the customer service desk on the way in that they would indeed be accepted - wishing to avoid an embarrassing incident when I reached the checkout! She said absolutely yes.
Did my normal shopping and presented my vouchers to the, err, mature lady at the till and she was fascinated by them. She has worked in the store for many many years and had never come across them, but by chance she had been training a new young person a couple of days earlier and had told her that Waitrose accepts them "but you're unlikely ever to come across them"! So we had a giggle while she put them through the till and it was all fine and dandy.
BUT...
A disappointing consequence of my frugal money-saving ways seems to have arisen. I had chosen to purchase a couple of Quidco "ClickSnap" offer items. I duly uploaded my receipt to Quidco expecting an easy 50p to arrive in my balance as usual. But yesterday my receipt was marked by Quidco as "declined". I've yet to have the reason confirmed - but I suspect it may be because the luncheon vouchers appear on my receipt as "coupons". If I'd thought about this I wouldn't have combined the two enterprises - ClickSnap savings and using luncheon vouchers - in the same transaction.
I will appeal to Quidco and will let you know the outcome - but in the meantime it's maybe something to bear in mind.
I was considering sticking with luncheon vouchers as my choice of Pinecone rewards, as they could maybe be a nice painless way to save up for something a bit special. But maybe I'll choose PayPal instead - or at least try not to combine too many money-saving activities in one go

Quidco has looked at my receipt again and granted me my 50p but as I'm not sure whether it was the coupon vs voucher mixup that caused problems, I still think I'll steer clear of using luncheon vouchers for any receipt I want to submit to ClickSnap in future - just in case
