Nightmarish few days with Roamlers Category Check tasks. Each task takes more than 50 minutes to do - with all the waiting around and getting permission. Then the tasks fail to upload most of the time as so large so you have to battle Roamler staff to send to them maunally - and the photos take up so much space on your phone ( minimum 100MB of data) and can prevent other tasks form uploading- but you have to keep them to dispute the overzealous auditors who will pick on the most minute detail. 75% rejection rate currently. Is this worth it for £5-10?
They need to learn from the simplicity of task or pay way way more.

What are they rejecting them over?! These the ones taking pics of pet food/coffee etc? I didn't bother asking permission tbh just took the pics but I've only done one. I can't see how they can find fault with this one.

Just silly things - was told I didn't take the full picture of a shelf despite the fact there was a humungous pillar obstructing it. When I corrected them on this they moved to the fact that had captured cat litter on the shelf despite the fact there was a nutrition product in that section. To be honest I think they are just nitpicking. Lost out on 6 tasks with them so far. Others failed to upload over WIFI as some tasks had about 45+ 5MB photos to upload. All in all I have fallen out of love with Roamler - the variability in the assessors is grating.
Don't even get me started on the issues with the beer checks = lol. I stopped doing those months ago.
Will stick with Task and Streetspotr fand the traditional web apps from now on.

After several dubious decisions from Roamler assessors, I just decided to move on from Roamler - no point banging one's head against a brick wall. I am sure they will still use the photos as tasks not reappeared - profit for them - feel royally used. Task 360 so ethical compared to Roamler.

yes it is very strange that the tasks don't reappear after a rejection.

It is alot of time and effort for it to be rejected, i feel they should at least give you exp points for trying it

This is why I'll do the odd job when its local but I won't go out of my way anymore. I think it was Mabozza said if you leave comments about any issues they tend to be a bit more understanding.

I agree with you on this Simon. I have had some issues with fully completing tasks in the past. I used the final screen to explain the issues to make Roamler aware that the task might look incomplete. Not had a rejection yet when I've done this.

I will add that I have not ouched those chocolate tasks - look like too much work (and not in the age range anyway)

If they’ve marked them for a retry they don’t appear in your task list. There’s a little icon at the bottom of the message where you had your rejection which you can click on and it will let you back into the submission. I always use the task feedback session though as others have suggested to highlight any issues and that works well

Blimey, I've been doing Roamler for ages and I never noticed that! I think I'm going senile ;). Thanks very much for pointing that out Andrew. Today's top tip!

Good tip - tried that to no avail. Bit fed up with them at this point. It would better to just have one or two assessors - the variation is off-putting. It also doesn't help that they take so long too feedback -

I feel you Cas - this is what happened to me. Initially tried to upload using my data then realized it was 99MB worth of photo (Eek) s - but couldn't switch of upload so anytime app opened while doing a task it kept trying to upload. Used up 2GB of my phone data this way and it prevented even some simpler tasks from uploading so they expired. Then when I got home the timer kept getting to 100% then resetting to 1%.
Thought the problem was me but then when it happened on 3 subsequent tasks that even with WIFI I couldn't upload I knew it was the app. The ones that did somehow manage to go through they reject on the craziest reasons such as not being able to photograph a shelf which is behind a pillar which is bang in front of it. I keep my photos but then it takes up so much space on my phone and then you have to battle to send them through to them. I sent 3 tasks manually this way and still not been accepted.
The problem with Roamler is they ask for too much - 3 for the price of 1 tasks!!! They often have what could be seen as 3 jobs in one task and they seem to think its OK. To expect you to upload 40+ photos for little more than £5 is crazy.
They have so many tasks like this and it isn't helped by their cumbersome app that doesn't allow you to see an overview of the questions so you can get quickly to the one you want like Task or Street.

You raise some good points . I dont understand what happened to uploading with this app .

I have only just realised that all my data is gone for the month now.

Guess there is not much i can do now, but just to move on and buy some data.
