Shop and Scan
In recent years it as become popular for you to do your own checkouts in supermarkets now and with ShopandScan you can do that at home and get paid for it.
ShopandScan is, in their own words ‘a market research survey measuring the purchasing of households around Great Britain.’
When you sign up you tell them about who lives in your family, their ages etc. and once you are approved and chosen you are provided with a book and a barcode beeper. These are your tools of the trade if you will while you work for them.
The basic principle behind ShopandScan is that each week when your shopping (You can do you shopping online or in store, It doesn’t matter) arrives you do 2 things
1 – Take a photo of the till receipt
2 – Beep all the shopping that you have bought with the Barcode Reader
Once you have beeped all your shopping you just connect the Barcode Reader to your PC and run a little bit of software and it transmits what you have bought to their HQ.
How much do you get paid for doing this? Well ShopandScan work in points. For taking a photo of the till receipt you will get 500 points, and for transmitting the barcodes of your shopping you get 1100. You are rewarded with these each week (assuming you have transmitted something). Once you have got to 10000 points you can redeem the points into vouchers via their site. So you are typically looking at a £10 Amazon voucher or whatever you decide to redeem it as every 7 weeks.
It is VERY possible to get them earlier though and this is the magic of ShopandScan. Sometimes you will buy a product and beep that item and then a few days later you will get a survey though to do about that product that takes a few minutes and will earn you an additional 1000 points.
There are also weekly prize draws where a different person wins £100 each week and then there are the monthly draws which have prizes of £200-£500 if your ID number is chosen.
You will also get access to other opportunities as well. Recently I have been invited to their ‘Food on the Go’ scheme where if you text a free number anytime you buy a ‘snack’ item while out and you get 200 points each time. So it really is possible to up your rewards over the basic numbers. I tend to just let my points up over the course of the year and then use them at Christmas time as you will have got to a very good total by then which really can make a difference.
Just over £40’s of rewards there
