[OT] Spare5 app

There is a new app on the App Store called Spare5. It basically allows you to do paid tasks that only take 5 minutes or so to complete e.g tagging pictures.

I downloaded this app about 6 weeks ago and so far have had no jobs at all show up in my app, so can't comment on how well it works. However yesterday I posted on their Facebook page, and subsequently started a email conversation with them. They told me jobs should be showing up for me because is been approved and there was work on the system. However nothing appeared. It appears legitimate, but they are obviously having teething problems as they only launched a few months ago.

Has anyone had success using this app? If not I'll persevere with it and feedback as to whether it is worth a look or not.

Hi queen 81,
Let me know if you have any luck. I'm crossing my fingers that it's just a glitch and that the jobs will soon show up for us. I've just emailed them again tonight asking if they have worked out what the problem might be. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.

No I'm the same. Nothing ever shows up in the task sections. I did email again but got no reply this time, I thing they are fed up with me now. Maybe it's only for the USA at present?
I'll keep it a few more weeks to see if the situation improves, if not it's going to be deleted.

It's working!!!!!!
And some tasks pay well for what you do!!! I've just earnt $10 for 1 hours work tagging which material an object in a picture is made from. The other tasks are harder and require more thought and time, but overall I'm very impressed.

Pay out is on Fridays for amounts above $1, through PayPal with no fees. So I'll keep at it until Friday and see if it actually pays out. If it does we are onto a winner!!! I'm very excited.

Just to note I ended up exchanging about 5 emails with Spare5 before my app worked, they hadn't authorised my account properly. Once in the app go to the task and when it says 'coffee break' pull down to refresh the page. That should work. If you have a problem go to their Facebook page and send them a message, they're more than helpful.

Yippee, an app that pays well, that you can use when it suits you! Not seen one like that before....... I must remain calm and wait to see if the money actual appears in my PayPal account....

This must only be for the Iphone, don't see it in the Android store.

Once in the app go to the task and when it says 'coffee break' pull down to refresh the page. That should work. If you have a problem go to their Facebook page and send them a message, they're more than helpful.

I would also recommend emailing, I downloaded the app and no tasks appeared. I emailed them and it turns out for some reason I hadn't received an email with a survey in which enables me to see content, so they resent the link.

ok my account has been approved but all I can see are tagging tasks paying 5 cents each

It's the image tagging tasks: interior object. Materials where I earnt so much. It's so quick and easy. I've also now completed a load of tagging challenges for toys and clothes , these are more time consuming but you gain bonus cent for each tag that someone else comes up with too. There under the trophy icon.
I'm up to over $13, with minimal effort.

After posting on Facebook I had an emails from: brian@madronalabs.co and gilbertbj@gmail.com

I'm not sure but I think they choose which tasks your past experience make you suitable for. Having said that I have no experience in interior design or marketing, which seem to be the basis if most tasks. However I have a doctorate, so my level of education might have opened up more tasks. The task I was doing only paid $0.03, but you could get through them fast.

Hi jellyfox, it's up to you when to leave a task. You just click on the home button. You just keep getting more money the more clothes you tag. Go and check your trophy icon to se if you had any matches with other people because you get extra money for them.

I've been paid by Spare5!! Just had $34 paid into my pay pal account. I had been waiting in anticipation all day to see if it would go in. Great news, I can now make the most if the app without worrying about it being a scam.

I spent maybe about a minute putting in terms for yoga pants and earned 5 cents.... What's the trick to earning...
