They are new to the UK, currently only offering tasks in London. There is a chance they have had some teething problems, they look to pay really well compared to other companies who do the same.

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

Hi all,

To answer a few questions that have arisen on this thread.

@Redisacolour: Spot ID can be found under 'my jobs' above the price paid for the Spot. Screenshot attached here, shows Spot ID's - #755198 and #755408

@Jon: Pay out for menu checks is 2.90. This pay is determined purely by our client, we do not take a cut from the Streetspotrs income, furthermore we pay out exactly the amount seen, the Streetspotr does not incur any PayPal fees as in the case of Roamler users.

Getting paid: We ALWAYS pay our Streetspotrs for work that has been successfully completed. Sometimes this does take up to 30 days, but nevertheless you will get paid for sure.

More Spots coming soon!

Thanks for your support and questions Money Shed.

Cheers,
G

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

Hello Threebagsfull - thanks for your comments :)

I downloaded Streetspotr to my Android device last week and attempted the "Welcome to Streetspotr" task. However, because my phone is so new and I don't have a clue how to use it properly ::), I got stuck at the selfie stage as I hadn't set up my phone to record locations on the camera. I left the task while I played with my settings, and then returned the next day to complete all the steps in the task. But when I submitted the task I was told it had expired - even though I sent it before the time displayed. I was under the impression I had 24hrs to complete the task - is this not correct?

So now the task is flagged as "processing", but when I try to submit again I'm told it has expired. Is there anything else I should try?

I don't live in London so no spots available for me :( Might I suggest Cambridge as a good location when you expand :D

Will StreetSpotr offer access to a UK telephone number to call in terms of support or if we need assistance due to a pushy security guards like others similar apps do?

I have just tried to register for this but it will not let me as I do not have any A'levels and it does not give the option for O'levels :-[

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

@Iggysmum - you are able to register! We will be sure to add O levels but in the mean time, you can just choose another option in the education options, even "none" is sufficient.

@Jon We will have a phone number for local support starting in August, when we have our physical office sent up in London. Still in Germany right now ;)

Thanks,
G

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

@threebagsfull hello :) I picked up a menu from one of the takeaway shops on streetspotr and drove a few miles down the road to my home. I've tried to accept the job but receive a message to say 'you are to far away from the spot. Please try to improve your localization or move closer to the spot'. Why is this restriction in place? It is not ideal to take photos from my car or from within the restaurant. I would however be able to capture some excellent, informative and more worthwhile pictures when at home. Can this restriction be lifted at all? Thanks

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

Hi JennaA,

Sure, I see your point however we have that restriction in place so as we can tell that you have been at that exact location of the restaurant. This aspect is really important for our quality assurance team to be able to verify that you were physically at the designated location. It prevents people simply downloading the menu from the internet or photographing their screen. Our client wants to know that our Streetspotrs have been at the restaurant and have photographed the menu available at that location.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I downloaded this the other day. Managed to complete the introductory task fine but it crashes every single time I try to access my profile :(

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

to be honest the app seems to have multiple problems at the moment which is hard to tell if they are addressing or not

Currently when I load it up I get the searching icon spinning for ages followed by 'connection failed' on my iphone 4s

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

Well today my phone buzzed with something it never usually does

There are streetspotr assignments near you!

So I login to the app and

2 Takeaway checks

Paying less than Roamler at £3 each

and they probably need doing AT the location instead of when you get home with the menu....like the roamler ones..

I'd given up on SS and deleted the app - yes the Roamler takeaways are, in my opinion, the easiest takeaway check tasks...

Also, I logged in to the app and looked at street news. They say they have a new app coming in November with new tasks too. We'll have to wait and see....

yeah, wait and see...again

This place sure is becoming pretty crowded, UK is quite small and we have

Field Agent
Roamler
Clic and Walk
Streetbees
StreetSpotr

Hope fees don't start going down as they compete for clients by offering the same work for less which means the 'worker' gets paid less

So as a newbie here I'm still trying to get my head round it all & which is the way to channel my time. I've signed up to Prolific & Resondent thanks to @Jon
I've earned a few 3.00 on Prolific so far & waiting on surveys to come back from Respondent that I've applied for, so fingers crossed.
I have a few items listed on Ebay which I hope I will put to my 1st try at MB, scares me to be honest.
