The newest version of the iOS app doesn't work on the iPhone 4S. I scored a major own goal there, as I can't get the old version back.

If I put my mind to it I can earn a tenner a month (more if I get some cashback). Some of it is so soul destroying I'm losing the motivation though. Getting screened out of surveys half way through is bordering on criminal. I did drop the 2,500 SB on the Spin and Win a few months ago though.

jeez, just drop it already! You're time is better spent elsewhere in the 'earning online' world!!

I only get involved around Swago time. When I said that I'd dropped the 2,500 SB, I meant that I won 2,500 SB on the Spin and Win wheel. You earn free spins on it while doing the Swago board. That's equivalent to around £17.50 in money.

I have a soft spot for Swagbucks as it was one of the first things that I tried while looking around this online world. I don’t really get most of it and there can be a lot of time wasted on surveys but I have created a generic persona and it seems to work for me as my screen out is low.

Since entering the hallowed halls of the Money Shed in April this year, this is what I have earned from Swagbucks.

April £20
May £45
June £10
July £20
August £5 (so far)

In May I discovered how to get the ncrave thingy to work for me. Unfortunately, by June it had stopped working and all I get now is the message “Sorry, there was an error processing your request. Close window”. So I can’t get lots of points as easily and quickly as I was. Does anyone know if I should be running Swagbucks on Chrome and if that would make a difference to the ncrave and ngage that run the videos? I would like to get them back as £45 plus a month is rather nice.

When you are starting out I have found Swagbucks to be a good training ground for how surveys are structured and worded as many of the other surveys I have come across follow a similar pattern. I can understand people getting frustrated and moving on but I think it is a good place to cut your teeth on before moving on.

I found out while watching the Ashes over Christmas that ncrave works best for me at about 2am in the morning.

Please don't judge me :p

Other than that its only the odd few links at the bottom of the main page (link from the daily to do list usually doesn't work for me), and then it's usually limited to 3 or 4 swagbucks a day.

Hi all.

I started using Swagbucks around 3 weeks ago - and I've got to the point where I'd like to cash out my first reward via paypal. However - when I tried to cash out - I was told that I couldn't because my email for my Swagbucks account isn' t the same email I use for my paypal account - which is ridiculous - as I have used many survey apps/sites, and I always use a two different emails for my account and paypal - and it's never been an issue before with any other apps/sites.

Users are supposed to be able to change their email address in their account settings - however - I've tried this several times, and even though it says that my settings have been changed and I keep having a confirmation email sent out to me to confirm the changes - the changes are not being made, so my email address for my account is staying the same.

To contact Swagbucks customer support - you either need to have a Facebook account (which I don't), or you can send them a message via a form on their site, using a "ticket system".
I have tried to contact Swagbucks 3 times, explaining the issue - and each time, I first receive the generic automated "we've got your message and we'll get back to you" email (which is to be expected of course) - but then, when I get the "real" reply back from them later (the one that's actually supposed to be a human dealing with the issue) it's infact a copied and pasted response that doesn't help me at all, and simply recommends that I change my email in my accounts settings, and if that doesn't work - then I should "get back to them" so they can fix it for me ........ but each time I message them explaining that the function in the settings to change my email isn't working, I just get that same stupid email back saying I should "get back to them" so they can deal with the problem and fix it for me.

This is starting to really irritate me now - as it appears as though Swagbucks don't answer their users at all, and all the time and effort I put into my reward could have been for nothing.

Are there any other Swagbuck users here who have had similar problems contacting them? How can I contact them to fix this if there's no humans reading their messages?

Hi

Firstly, they have always required your Paypal and Swagbucks email address to matchin order to cash out to Paypal, it's simple security - I know a few sites don't, but a lot of the sites and apps I use have the same requirements. That's their policy, nothing we can do to change it unfortunately.

Secondly, yes, their customer service can be very lax at times, especially if the person on the other end simply doesn't know why this is happening to you.

Are you doing the change of address via a mobile phone / tablet or a PC / laptop? Whichever one, maybe try the other?

The obvious thing to do though is just add your Swagbucks email address as a supplementary address on your Paypal account - I have about 4 email addresses on my Paypal account as I don't use my main email address for most GPT sites. It should then work.

As I said before, I use many different survey sites and apps - I use several of the larger well known ones, and several smaller lesser known ones too - and none of them have ever had an issue with a person's account email being different to their paypal email. But it's interesting that you mentioned that some others out there do have that same issue, because I'll have to watch out for it. Out of all the sites/apps I use - Swagbucks are the only ones who have ever made this an issue.
I've tried doing it (changing my account email) several times on both my PC and mobile - neither work. They both say that the change was made and each time I then also keep an email after to confirm the change - but despite that my Swagbucks account email remains set as my old one. It's very weird. I check both my email accounts (both normal inbox and spam) and the only email I get each time - is one to my old email confirming that my changes have been successfully made.

As for the adding my other email address to my paypal thing - thank you for the suggestion, I'll definitely look into that.

Worst case scenario - I'll just have to cash out my payments on there in amazon vouchers instead. I'm fine with getting paid in amazon vouchers, but of course being able to actually have the freedom to use my reward how I want to without being restricted is nice too. :)

I don't know how much money you have in your Swagbucks account. If you've only been doing it 3 weeks I'm guessing not that much but if cashing out is becoming a bit of a faff then I would just let it go and move onto the next money making method.

*UPDATE* Today, while sitting doing my usual round of survey sites, I decided to try changing my email on Swagbucks 1 more time. So I did exactly the same thing I did about 5 times before - went to my settings and changed it the same way - and this time it actually worked. I was amazed!

I have close to £15 on there atm, so I'm really happy that I'll actually be able to get it and continue to use Swagbucks.

Again, thank you everyone for your replies. :)

Anybody still wanting to sign up with Swagbucks please feel free to use my referral code below:

http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/geebobuk

I find it to be a steady earner with a few successful survey completes per week alongside the daily polls & watching videos (separate apps available for these) - once you have worked out how to navigate the website it is straightforward

Cheers

I want to know if this is possible so I could propose a "threeway" (couldn't think of a better way to put it lol) of referral codes on here.

Not sure if anyone would know if a new account is possible after already making one but thought I'd ask just on the off chance.

Cheers
