Re: Swagbucks
Got 255 SB for joining and then cancelling trial of Videostripe.
Don't usually do these free trials, but looked legit.
You need to provide credit/debit card details (and they take $1 to verify it) and you will be charged if you fail to cancel before end of Trial.
But, I can confirm that they duly refunded my $1 as soon as I cancelled and the cancellation process was painless.
edit: I should add that you shouldn't do these "free trials" unless you are prepared to deal with the occasional tricky company - there are some that have 7 day free trials that can only be cancelled on 7 days notice! So, they cannot be free trials obviously and they sign you up to Continuous Payment Authorities (CPAs). Despite what your bank says, they are obliged to cancel them upon request (and the bank are liable to repay you if they don't), but it is a real pain in the arse to have to deal with this. These companies also make it hard to cancel by requiring a telephone call rather than doing it by email or via their website.
2 companies that operate these seemingly unfree free trials are: UKCreditratings. com and lotto24 .co. uk
I'm sure that there are more.
