Has anybody applied for the weekly tasks and not heard back? I'm still waiting for them to say whether I'm in or not.
Keeping my fingers crossed I'm accepted but not looking likely :(

I am in on the weekly tasks, started this week, was given 4, managed to buy 3, the limit is $200 over the tasks given each week.

Also they have updated the guidelines to state you must not return items. all the ones I have this week are from USA and will be too much of a hassle to send back anyway.

@gavvy I'm so glad you posted that because I was mid-purchase and hadn't realised they had stopped allowing returns!

I also managed to purchase 3 items and skipped 1 ad

How are they going to know if you return the item or not?

I'm not sure. Perhaps they check with the companies?
They just say this:
Additionally, we ask raters not to return the items in exchange for a refund.

“Ask” seems to allow a lot of leeway lol

When you get refunded for return postage through Paypal the refund comes through as from Telus. I assume that means they own Paypal, so would know through that?

Maybe not, but the refund of postage has come from Telus both times I claimed it from Paypal.
that really is an odd one as you would think claiming a postage refund would just come straight back from the company you paid it to in the first place lol

Well that makes mystery shopping pointless if you can’t return the items as that’s what generates the most profit

Telus are a huge outsourcing company think like capita or Adecco, no way would the Paypal project be able to tell another project about something deemed to be sensitive, they would end up looking one or both contracts.

Appen always had it in its rules not to return items, they will have no way of checking as the whole point of mystery shopping is you stay incognito. They ask you not to so companies they are shopping don't suffer.
