Re: uTest

Yeah, just taken part in a sandbox test cycle this week too. Waiting to hear back. It was really hard going trying to find bugs - I found one obvious bug and one daft wee thing which I hope counts.

FYI, you don't have to have passed Sandbox to apply for projects on the Projects Board.

Oh, I hadn't realised that. Thanks!

Re: uTest

I think I've done ok at Sandbox, my score is the same as the top scorers (there are 6 of us with the same top score). I don't know if it is finished though or if there is still grading to do. I have had feedback about my bugs now that it has finished. Do they send anything after that? An overall result or feedback? I'm searching around the forums but can't find any info on what happens next....

Hi Melomanias and pinkboi - I hadn't realised you were in the same cycle (assuming we're all in the same class!).

Re: uTest

I got two very valuable ones so 4.00 points. The guy who submitted five bugs is on -1.00 points....

I enjoyed Sandbox, its been a great learning experience. I'm curious about where it will lead :)

I hope we get an email, I feel a bit in limbo. Are you enjoying UTest Spike?

Well done on passing!

Yeah, must be the same class as me as there are six on the same score. The grading seems to have paused (from about 3pm) so not sure if the rest will get graded - still waiting on mine! Still two spots in the 30% (~21 places I calculate)

Someone on the forum said you get an email 3-4 days later once the Sandbox is finished.

Re: uTest

You'll be fine then!

It might have been a week or 2 until I started getting proper invites but once your rating starts to improve you'll be turning down projects :)
Most of the time I love it. It's a bit draining sometimes but that goes away when the approval e-mails come through :)

Have you heard anything about the test case yet? Unless it says otherwise in the overview, I wouldn't go purely on the scorecard as some people may have their TC rejected. It's unlikely but still possible

Re: uTest

Oh I haven't seen any notifications about the test case. That's still showing as pending. Ah! So don't count my chickens yet! Haha!

My current work-from-home stuff is due to end in the Spring (probably) so if this works out it could be well timed. I am not very challenged by my current work so something fresh would be nice!

I like the quality of the UTest website, I'm going to browse the Uni this weekend. Are you active in the forums anyone? I don't have much to contribute but reading it is interesting.

Re: uTest

With 2 Very valuable bugs, I think you're in!

I don't post much but I read it a lot.

It's definitely fresh! Different apps/sites every day although I do like ongoing projects where I can really get to know how something works. I usually make far more from those projects.
I'm working on one at the moment where I can get a $50 bonus if I'm the most valuable tester on the project. I was already putting in a bit of extra effort as I work with the Test Team Lead quite a lot but that's an extra incentive.

Re: uTest

Oh that's good news. Their site is very accessible which makes reading around quite easy.

I have just noticed there are loads of bugs still pending approval. I'll go back to sitting on my hands now :D

Re: uTest

I think I am stuck in quicksand! I have submitted the test but I can't find any bugs and it's driving me crazy. Most of the others in the 'class' have found theirs, though one person got a bit too excited and submitted 3 lol

Re: uTest

Yes, I'd say we're in the same class :) I got one "somewhat valuable" plus one "very valuable", so 3 points from the bugs.

spike241: do you have a lot of different devices that you do testing on? Wondering whether I should think of investing in any second-hand devices for testing...

Re: uTest

No, just my PC and 2 Android phones, although I only had one when I started.
I've been thinking about getting a cheap iPhone though.

Re: uTest

94th! Wowsers!

Lynnie, I looked at things that needed me to perform an action - and checked if it worked out the way I expected. Has your deadline passed? Could you try that with some of the more user-participation areas? I also went a looked for really old stuff on the site to see if the links still worked. Found another one there too.

Mac and iPhone here, both in need of an upgrade :p I was browsing the forum and blog posts last night and at least for the mobile devices a second hand iPhone might be a good investment (http://blog.utest.com/2014/12/19/the-10-hottest-devices-for-mobile-app-testing-this-holiday-season/). Do you find that there's a big difference in the number of test cycles available for Mac versus those available for PC?

I actually missed my sandbox invitation due to being too busy!

I've requested another invite so hopefully I'll hear back soon.

Re: uTest

Do you run the sites or apps to look for errors when using them or look at coding? Very confused what this is about. I just looked at the site but not much clearer lol

Re: uTest

Spike would be the best person to answer this but from what i gather you look for errors that could be websites, Apps or anything else you may have added in your extended profile.
