Re: uTest

Ok. I know previous testers have done it with Windows 7.
You could always check the bugs are also appearing with Windows 8 as well and add that information to your reports. Adds a bit more value ;)

I started my sandbox yesterday, but have already noticed a bit of a prob. It stated windows 8- which my pc is- but I completed the test on my laptop which is windows 7

whoops.

I managed to get 2 bugs and had to mess for ages to get a flow diagram and a screen shot on the same file- was a bit of a mess!

you can edit the issue report as i had to this morning, so you may be able to add that you completed it on windows 7, i think there was something in blue writing at the bottom that you cld click on, might have said add environment or something similar, i think you can add your computer there.

Re: uTest

Ok so yesterday I was feeling overwhelmed by the sandbox but today I've taken the time to read all the relevant articles and I've just submitted my test case and first bug report. I'm buzzing from finding my first (unduplicated) bug! Lol! 1 more to go...

Re: uTest

It is overwhelming to begin with, no doubt about that. That does pass quite quickly and many cycles will be on brand new apps with lots of bugs!
Sandbox has you testing an established website that shouldn't have that many bugs.

I still get a buzz when I get an e-mail saying a bug has been approved :)

Re: uTest

Yeah, I received the email, I received the email!!

"Hello uTester,

Congratulations on your successful completion of the uTest Sandbox program! Based upon your performance, you have finished in the top 30% of your Sandbox class. Therefore, in the next several weeks you will gradually begin to receive test cycle invitations."

I'm happy ;D

Guys (of the Class of February 9th), keep an eye on your inboxes, you should be getting one as well ;)

Happy! Happy! Happy!

Hi,

Got mine last night as well. Took the test in the link and passed that (it's easy). Should get a proven rating in the next few days now, according to people on their forums.

Congrats to you and Vistamar as well - See you at 8 lol.

Re: uTest

What does it mean if someone is a 'favorite tester for this product'?

Re: uTest

I've completed my Sandbox now so I'll have to wait and see what happens after the test cycle closes tomorrow afternoon. I've been marked as a favourite tester but don't know if that really means anything at this early stage.
Congrats to all of you that have passed.

Congrats to all of you that have passed.

I think you may find that the favourite tester badge, the blue one, is above the line on the test cycle page. This is just showing you that you would have that badge on the actual test cycle line if you were a favourite tester :)

Either way it doesn't mean anything for the sandbox.

Regards,

CAD.

Congrats melomanias! I got it too. "See" you at 8pm!

Thanks! Congratulations to you too :D

I'm going to be at the Science Museum Lates when the webinar is running, but I downloaded the GoToWebinar app so that I can follow it from there. Until later!

Re: uTest

Hi,

Not had any jobs from this yet, and there do not seem to be many news ones being posted to the project board. Guess I'll just have to be patient.

Regards,

CAD.

Re: uTest

There's never much on the Projects Board. Most cycles are based on OS and location but occasionally there are additional requirements. These go on the Board.

You won't get a Proven rating until you've done a few more cycles with some bug approvals.

In my first month after completing Sandbox, I was invited to 7 projects. The second month, I took part in 30. It takes time to build a reputation as a valuable, reliable tester.

You will need patience, especially in the beginning. Without that, it'll be really frustrating when you're waiting up to a month for bugs to be approved/rejected! Most are approved within a week of the cycle closing but I have some that are at 30 days and counting.
