Pickle is a new mobile app that allows users to post any job or task they need done - as well as lets users accept jobs, negotiate price, and receive payment through the app. Our aim is to make your life easier.

FEATURES:
- Your own profile with user ratings. Get rewarded for the jobs you do well, giving you extra incentive to excel on any task.

- Anyone is free to post work or to take on work, whether in unemployment or not. Find a new level of freedom in your life. Pickle helps you find work in your own time.

- Any job can be posted. Why not see how easy your life can be? Find out how people can help you streamline any outstanding tasks (you may be surprised).

- GPS to find jobs near you. No time wasted. Just easy access to local jobs.

- Option to negotiate on money and time. This gives both parties total control over their choices.

- Secure payments through the app. No need to deal in cash.

- The option to search for verified tradesmen. So you can use tradesmen who are experienced and recommended.

- Filters that let you see different jobs on the map:
- Available: Jobs that are available for negotiation or acceptance
- Active: Jobs that you are involved with and that are in process
- Negotiating: Jobs that you have negotiated on


Right now, we are in the pre-launch stage, with an official launch in April. We are currently available for download in the iOS app store, and finishing development of the Android version.

Right i've downloaded the app


signed up for it but all I am getting is the 'your profile' screen


No Jobs in Leeds (not surprising)


So is this going to be like PPH/microjobs but via a mobile platform?


I would also maybe drop the IAP to 'get verified' - why should I be locked out potential work because I don't want to pay

Jon,

The job you've taken the screenshot of is our 'mock' job to register your details to Stripe, which is what you will be able to receive payment through. This is primarily for our testers as we are still in the pre-launch stage.

If you are on the 'Your Profile' page, you should see the green check in the top right corner, which brings you to the main GPS map of the app.

We are currently in the pre-launch stage, so most of our jobs have been popping up locally around London, but it does allow jobs to be posted and accepted in all regions.

The verification payment is not required by any means, and does not lock you out of seeing or accepting any jobs that are posted. It is simply an option for users to choose that may give benefit when accepting a job - customers may prefer a verified users to one without, but that does not mean un-verified users do not have the opportunity to accept jobs.

We are currently in the testing stage, as our official launch is in April, so our primary aim is to bring users onto the app to provide customers with people who want to complete jobs/earn money as more jobs begin to pop up.

Looks like a great app that has to potential to be useful for both the client user and the worker


Is there a feedback system in place at all? I know there are stars but what about leaving feedback in words about the work that was done?

At the moment, we are using the star-rating review system but at a later stage we may incorporate comments as well.

So this is almost like an app version of People Per Hour but more localised so not restricted to online work only?

Like you've said, we are not restricted to one industry of work - we allow any job imaginable to be posted with the opportunity for other users to accept the jobs. So it works in both ways - helps lighten your load of things to do and can also give you an opportunity to earn some extra money.

Our jobs can be anything from online work to house maintenance to grocery shopping to dog walking. We don't fit under one category of work because we provide the opportunity for all jobs, no matter how simple or extensive.

OK so say I put a job on there for £10 - to clean my car


At what point can the people who gets the job see my actual address? and how much of that £10 do pickle take if any?

Before a job is accepted, price is able to be negotiated between the parties and when that is confirmed, Pickle takes 10% from the fixer and 10% from the customer.

When you click "Post Job," the app finds your location - you are able to move the pin around to whatever location you will need the fixer to come to and then confirm the job address. The pin will show up where you are on the map, and once you have accepted a fixer to complete the job the exact address is then shown to them. If there is any confusion, there is also a chat feature that enables once both parties have accepted jobs - this is to sort out anything and make sure no details are left unsaid.

Hi Jon,

When you lose connection, the app may log you out at times but that is for your own security. We store sensitive information (i.e. card information for payments) so it is for the users benefit and safety that we have this process to log back in.

Instead of having to re-enter a username and password, we use the verification code process so it ensures that login is through your mobile phone and doesn't allow anyone to sign into your account and use your information.
