This looks great although I am up north I dont think there would be many local jobs.

Has there been an answer to how online jobs will show that could be done anywhere?

Hi Firefly!

Thanks for the interest! We are hoping for exposure to grow outside of London in time, where jobs can start popping up around you as well up north!

To answer your question for online jobs - they will show up on the GPS map just like the other jobs. If you are specifically looking for those jobs, we have categories that you can choose from that will only show you that group of job types.

There is also a job tracker notification function you are able to set up in your profile - you can choose the category of jobs you want, the distance, and the pay amount you are interested in. Whenever a job in that category becomes available, you will receive a push notification on your phone about it, letting you know as soon as it is posted so you can be one of the first to accept or negotiate on it!

Let me know if you have any further questions! Always here to help :)

Hi everyone!

Just dropping by for a quick update on Pickle and to spread the word on a competition we're currently running on Facebook.

The update:
We've officially launched on the 8th of June. We're getting more and more people on board every day and the number of tasks available is also growing. Thank you for your support so far!

The competition:
Drop by our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/weRpickle) and let us know what you need doing or delivered to you this week. Let us know what you NEED, then we'll pick the best answer from all entries… and make sure it's DONE for you! For Free! (There are not those many entries at the moment, so the chances of one of you being selected are pretty, pretty high :) )

Finally, if you have any suggestions or there's support you need with the app, let us know!

Good morning!

We have a task available on Pickle to be carried out in Leeds. I know a few of you ;) might be close enough to carry it out. Please have a look at the app and see if it's something you can / want to do. Also, remember that you can negotiate.

It's getting busier

Word of mouth will be the real promotion method for something like this I feel

We apologise for the delay in announcing the winner for this competition, but we will come through.

Thank you so much for entering :)

Yes, we're currently using different strategies for getting as many people on board as possible, but word of mouth is definitely one of the most important.

Speaking of which, if you go inside the app, you'll have the chance to take part in our #DoForADay competition. Share on social media for your chance to win a FREE day of Pickle help!

Also, we'll take this chance to brag a little and tell you guys that we've been featured as #1 in the Top Ten Life Hack Apps on ShortList (http://www.shortlist.com/tech/gadgets/10-lifehack-apps-and-web-services#gallery-1), which made us really, really happy :)

Finally, if you have any more suggestions on how we could reach more NEEDs (the people who post jobs), please enter the brainstorm. We're hungry for ideas!

We ended up having two moving jobs carried out in Leeds and another task that required taking a photo in London and sending it to a Leeds-based user. :)

[member=1445]Pickle[/member] PLEASE get rid of that verification code you have to enter

I've said it before on this thread but that is a HUGE UI barrier for me to that point where I think, meh, it's effort to actually check the app code I have to do that code thing...

Hi BreeziOG,

We've only officially launched in the London area, which is why most jobs are located there for the moment. Despite that, people elsewhere can and do sign up, so we never know where the next job is going to pop up. I'd suggest setting up your profile and job tracker (don't forget to set the distance radius and price range for the jobs you're interested in, inside the job tracker) and when anything comes up in your area, you'll be notified. :)

Hi Jon,

Are you still being asked the verification code frequently? Can I ask if you've already updated the app to the latest version? And if you have, has none of the updates made a difference in the frequency with which you're asked for the code?

Thanks

Is this for physical jobs or online jobs?

It is for any kind of job that people can think of and post through the app. So far, the majority of jobs have been physical ones, but there's nothing stopping users from getting creative and asking whatever they need doing, physically or online, as long as it's legal. ;)

Asking me more than 1 time after you already have my login details built into the app is more than is needed

Do it the first time someone signs in sure, but not every-time

Or you are doing is putting a barrier in and delaying them getting to the map to understand what is available which is not what you want as that map is your main selling point to get people to both keep the app and check it frequently

Hi Jon,

I'm sorry to hear that is still happening to you, but the latest updates should have fixed that. Could I please ask you to try and delete and reinstall Pickle on your phone and see if this behaviour persists?

Thank you!

So, following on from a post I put on another thread. I work for The Body Shop At Home. The party work itself is great and enjoyable, but getting the parties is hard work. It's simply a matter of talking to people and seeing if they like The Body Shop At Home and like having parties. It's slow and tedious.

Could I advertise on Pickle for people to have a Body Shop party and give them cash, say £5 for hosting one? Host also get lots of free stuff and discounts, but maybe this would be a way of opening up new social groups and areas to me?

Does this sound like a stupid idea? Is it worth just giving it a try?

Hi Janine,

It wouldn't be the most outlandish job we have had posted on Pickle, so go ahead and give it a try!

Thanks
