Shame they've removed it from the android store

aye, it's Apple only now

Unfortunately we had to remove the Pickle app from the Google Play Store as it wasn't stable enough to use with the upgraded iOS version. Once we are able to upgrade the Android version, we'll make it available again, but we don't have a timeline yet. We have a form available on our website for those on Android devices to sign up to a waiting list.

It's a shame you have no idea when it will be available again as it did look like something I would have been interested in.

Yes, I understand. We haven't forgotten our Android users, but upgrading the Android app will take significantly longer as it needs to be optimised for more devices than the iOS version. We want to make sure our users get a better experience and, unfortunately, that comes at a cost. Trust me, if we could have both versions available now, we would. Hundreds of people have been signing up to the Android waiting list and we will make sure to update everyone when we have more concrete news.

It's certainly a novel idea to earn some money

I think if you can get some major exposure on website like studentroom etc just before Uni comes back in to play in Sept/Oct then you will be on the ball as people would be all over this during freshers week

It's also good that you've made it so the tasks aren't GEOGRAPHICALLY DEPENDENT anyone can do any of the dare tasks they see, it doesn't matter where in the UK they live

Yes, it makes much more sense for members of TMS now. The possibility to have tasks that aren't geographically restricted was always there, but it is indeed true that with the introduction of Dares the proportion of those tasks has increased significantly.

By the way, we have just posted a few more of those, so it might be worth for shedders to have a look now

Thanks for the advice, Jon. Yes, we've looked into TheStudentRoom before, but unfortunately their posting restrictions are somewhat strict... Any ideas on how we might introduce Pickle there without risking getting banned?

And yes, we'll definitely be targeting Freshers' Week

Hmmm, I downloaded this app, but the jobs were all quite far away & wanting McDonald's delivering late at night and then one came up for a sexual favour in a bus stop, so I deleted the app. Probably not the best money earning app for me.

Every task pays a different amount. Seen some as high as £50

Yeah i check it regularly.. VERY hard to get accepted for a paid task on it, (Most paid tasks are by Pickle, not users, and they decide who gets it... never one yet)
it's mostly crap, but fun to look at some of the things posted

I'm speak to the woman behind the app every few months, i'll feed that back to her and it's quite interesting user feedback if that's how things are being perceived

Yeah most paid ones (that i have seen) are by Pickle... whether they actually get given to a user i am very dubious, i have done one paid task (collecting a bag in Bradford taken it to Rochdale for a tenner) other than that its all "Wanna be my pal" or silly dares posts... entertaining but not a money making app tbh.. There is one funny paying one on it, punch someones racist flatmate in the face... £10 for every punch landed!! LOL

I mean, surely there should be some kind of approval neede before your request gets published? I like a laugh more than most people, but that’s not really appropriate, and whoever owns this surely doesn’t want their business associated with that kind of thing?

Nope there is no approval, i think it is more a social platform than an opportunity to earn TBH
