Hi Everyone,
Thought I would start a thread about my experiences and am happy to give advice, or support to anyone who might need it.
I signed up to peopleperhour a couple of years back, at the start it was very hard trying to get someone to give me a chance, but then I learned how to write engaging proposals, got thick skin and accepted that quite a lot of my proposals would be rejected, and ploughed on, applying for as many jobs as possible. I finally got my first job! I enjoyed and still enjoy writing, so for me that was where I started, but there are so many different kinds of trades on there, that there will be something for everyone.
I started writing articles for SEO, and eventually was writing 15 to 25 articles a week that ranged from 100 to 2500 words. The more good feedback I received, the higher up the ranks I started to be. I then started expanding the work I was looking for, and as I have a PA background started applying for Virtual Assistant jobs. Many many rejections later I got one! Which is what I do now. Work 2 to 6 hours a day, all from home, to fit around my family, and taking home 400 to 600 a month.
It has been a massive learning curve for me, and you have to persevere, not just give up if your proposal is rejected. The more effort you put in the more you will get out.
Luck to you all, and happy to help anyone that needs it!
Shelley
