no each day your money resets so you are just using the same money over and over and over again over 4 days

I'm building up my bankroll now in the exchange but think I might miss out on a lot of Cheltenham offers. I start work at 8:15am and there is no way I can sneak off to place my bets, and I can't take annual leave either. Any decent events during school holidays?

I remember someone on here using their phone and going to the toilet throughout the day to place all the bets lol

Toilet break....what's one of them? Might need to teach the husband how to MB and get him to book annual leave instead. Although then he will know how much I've made....I've conveniently halved my profits so far...:)

@maisiemog, in school holidays you've got Glorious Goodwood in August, which is less worthwhile than Chelts, and maybe the York Ebor in August.
If you start work at 08.15 maybe you could make a super early start (lifestyle permitting) or place some matched bets the evening before (if the T and C's allow that).

Having been there last year - this isn't going to work as a lot of the offers don't apply until the day, and most of the odds at the exchange are poor. Early in the day is more possible, but you will miss most of the boosts.

The good thing with Cheltenham is there is definitely a bigger window for decent matches that on a normal weekend of racing.

Well no, the main good thing with Cheltenham is all the offers obviously! But the prevalence of matches helps.

There are also a lot of higher priced runners with good matches which helps with free bets

Wow soo much to learn.

I need to learn these horse refunds as soon as possible.

I tried to do the refunds on Saturday . Do you need to be at the computer all day ? because that is what i did on Saturday wasn't sure what to do .
waiting for each race to get close to the start time

Nah not for all the offers, the only one you REALLY need to be at your computer for is b365

the rest you can just place in the morning and then go out ;)

I suspected this. Might have to give Cheltenham a miss this year. On a different note what is the World Cup going to be like for MBing?

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade - I've done the last two Cheltenham's and they've been very kind to me. However, it's easy to get carried away when reading about people's big profit margins when you are brand new to MB.

Horse Racing can give fantastic MB returns, but it's also the sport that is most likely to get you gubbed with a bookie. There is always a mass gubbing by bookies after Cheltenham, always.

If you're new to MB, aren't confident with how Horse Racing bets work (if you don't know what Rule 4 means, then see that as a sign you need to a bit more research) or if you don't have much of a racing profile already established, then I recommend setting your sights lower than some of the numbers that have been mentioned in this thread.

Match Betting and Cheltenham is a long game - you don't have to go nuts on your first one, use this as an opportunity to find your feet, that way you'll be there for next years too :)

As for other events, yes, World Cup will almost certainly be 'big', but as it's spread over a longer period of time it's less intense.

You should be able to place some bets in the morning before you leave to work. It does mean you can't take advantage flash odds boosts during the day or offers where you get a free bet on the next race if you win or something but there should definitely be some you can get on.

Oddly, out of all the festivals the one I did best on last year was the Ebor which I think is in August.

These are the major festivals that I recall having some offers last year and their dates this year, in case that helps with planning for anyone.

Mar 13 - 16 Cheltenham
Apr 12 - 14 Aintree Grand National
Jun 19 - 23 Royal Ascot
Jul 27 - 28 King George
Jul 31 Aug 4 - Goodwood
Aug 22 - 25 York Ebor
Sep 12 - 15 Doncaster St Ledgers
Sep 27 - 29 Newmarket Cambridgeshire meeting

Wow I've just started reloads the last couple of weeks but not gone down the horsey refunds route yet but I think I should maybe start so I can at least put a few bets on Cheltenham :D

Aye that's good!

You just need to have built up a bit of a profile with the bookies doing horseys
