Every race I've bet on the last two days to get free bets (including a couple of sign-up offers) has seen my horse win with ease. I'm going to do a couple of bets unmatched each day at Cheltenhmam - I always do the Skybet offer unmatched - watch my luck change.

HOT DAMN!!!

Verily!!

As Wibble mentioned, it's for all 4 days too. Looks like the Stake amount may vary a bit, basically seems like it's the racing equivalent of the Football In Play offer they do.

I got the pop up on site before the email arrived so they may be going out a bit slow if you usually get that offer reckon you'll get this too.

I avoided all betting yesterday so I could get funds out of bookies and safely in Exchange...and then WH emailed the Bet £20 get £10 on horses and Bet £10 on football get £5. Of course the nag went and won and I'm fully expecting the football to win as well :p

Just grabbing round numbers to make it simpler but.

Lets say you make 3 £10 bets on 3 different horses on the same race.

Lets say Horse A is your highest odds and requires £100 liability.

Horse B is £50 liability

Horse C is £20 liability

Because only 1 horse can win the race, your maximum exposure is never going to be higher than £100 because that's the 'worse case scenario'.

BUT, we can get that amount lower.

If Horse A wins the race, that means Horse B and C didn't and your Lay bets on those 2 horses are guaranteed to pay out at the exchange.

£100 liability pays out for Horse A, but you simultaneously get £20 back via Horse B and C meaning overall you can only ever lose a maximum of £80 from your Exchange.

If Horse C won, then you would lose no money at all from the Exchange because your £20 liability is equalled out by the £20 from Horse A & B paying out.

Does that example help?
@Pbrail Yes, thank you. That makes it really clear for me. (Sorry for being dense lol). Many thanks for taking the time to do this :)

placed my betvictor bet and made a 13p profit due to crazy odds as the race is off in 5mins lol

Another one to add to the sheet for tomorrow.

Think I might pass £150 in free bets tomorrow at this rate already

Basically, just follow the Bonus lockin calculator and you are guaranteed to make a profit from this offer. As WH are paying double winnings, what you are effectively doing is OVERLAYING your bet meaning if your horse wins at WH, you get the double winnings, and if it loses to the Exchange, you get extra money due to the Overlay.

Lower odds horses with close matches give the best return, but will likely require a larger bank roll as requires a higher Back bet at the bookie (around £65-£70 back bet if you choose Getabird). You can choose higher odds for a lower back bet amount but your lock-in will be less (so I'm told, I've not yet done the maths on any of it as the odds are all still a bit far out for my tastes this early)..

So, just to get this clear. If I have the WH offer and I want to back Kalashnikov and it's 5.0 (or whatever it is on the day), and I lay it at 5.2 (for example). I understand that the maximum possible bonus of £100, and that the Bonus retention is 100% because any winnings come as cash. I also understand that the stake is 100/ (5-1)=£20. So that's what they call a locked-in bonus, right?

Also, If I have the offers from both WH and Ladbrokes, it's better to choose different horses, say the favourite and the second favourite (presuming the matches are close) rather than the same horse, as this reduces the liability in the exchange?

@NRS

100 / (5 - 1) = £25 not £20

Locked in bonus? not sure if you mean lock in profit?

If you back Kash @ £25 you win £100, but if it doesnt win you lose the qualifying loss on the bet.

You can back lay more than £25 (to lock in profit) to make money whatever the result - effectively reducing the £100 profit if Kash wins to guarantee a profit whatever the result.

Yes different horses is better - it reduces the liability as you said, and if you lock in profit you don't care who wins (apart from the cash in the exchange vs in the bookies of course).

edited cos im twp!

@Wibble

- Yes, I meant locked in profit. I'm either over-thinking things or trying to walk before I can run (I've been MBing for two months and I'm still working my way through the sign-up offers)

If the maximum WH double winnings bonus is £100, then why would it make sense to back more than £25 at 5.0?

@ NRS

My bad, your're right that makes no sense!

What I meant to say was to lay more than £25 to guarantee a profit.

Assuming you back and lay £25 at 5.0 and horsie wins:

Win £25 @ 5.0 = £100 at bookie, loss £25 @ 5.0 = £100 at exchange + bonus winnings of £100 = £100 total profit.

So either £0 ql, or +£100 if horsie wins.

Assuming you back £25 at 5.0 and lay £30 @ 5.0 and horsie loses:

Lose £25 at bookie, win £30 at exchange so up £5
If horsie wins, win £25 @ 5.0 = £100 at bookie, loss £30 @ 5.0 = £120 at exchange + bonus winnings of £100 = £80

So either £5 qp, or +£80 if horsie wins.

Trade off between the big £+ if the horse wins, for a higher qp if it doesnt.

Apologises for the confusion.

Thanks for your help @Wibble

Like I suspect the majority of newbies, I'm feeling quite overwhelmed with all the Cheltenham offers. I've got a lot of them down on paper, but whether I manage to get them all on is another matter!

Right this PP offer is free bet if the SP wins

I would rather tie my money up in as many early races as possible and looking at the first race GetABird is a pretty good favourite with a record of 11-11 so literally doesn't know how lose so I'm slinging £10 on one of the other horses as I think the SP is going to win that race!

Yeah I mean it's easy to underestimate just how much there is to do and in tern how much money to be made.

Just look at this afternoon when £50 bet365 offers come in alongside a BetVictor one, the latter of which needed me to place a bet on a horse race to get the free bet tomorrow!

This is the reason why I always take the week off work as I just want to get the absolute most from it!

Been doing this for 10 years @NRS, Cheltenham is always mental :p

Better to do 2 or 3 offers properly and ignore the rest than do 1 wrong - horsie racing mistakes can be expensive.

Do one offer at a time, make sure its laid, then on to the next one until the bankroll or the head can't take anymore:D
