So my blog is going ok, I have not had much content recently so it's been a bit quiet but my new purchase of an ex-racehorse has helped. When I post about her, the trainer I bought her off does promote it and so my views go mad. Which is good. I still haven't got round to sorting out monetizing it yet. I was just letting things tick along and get going. But I have some annual leave I am taking at the end of the month so am going to get that sorted then (nearly a year after I had started).
YouTube will be picking up too soon, as I start to compete, that has been tipping away, I just need to get in more subscribers but I will work on that over the summer!
So next up, I have been thinking about it for ages. I have been listening to a lot of podcasts and thought as I have struggled for years to write my book about tales from the racing world, that a podcast, might be a better way to get it going. People have loved hearing my stories and I have tried to write them down but I just haven't got the patience for it.
While listening to my many podcasts, I heard about Anchor which is part of Spotify. They offer a platform to produce podcasts and offer help with monetization but only if you are in the US. Is there any platform like this that supports the UK? A number of the horsey podcasts also go through Patreon which offers subscriptions for content, I have looked at this but I have seen a quite a few very negative reviews for this.
So basically, good platforms to produce a podcast so I can have a more considered think would be much appreciated!
