Hi All,

Haven't posted on here for a while but during the pandemic my self-employed husband started up a new business selling paper cuts and cards using his Cricut machine whilst he was unable to go out to work (he's a handyman).

Now he is back at work I refused to take over the paper cuts as they were really time consuming and fiddly. I am not arty but I do enjoy designing things. So the paper cut business stopped. We help out a lot at a local swimming club which our kids attend, which is a charity, and have been ordering club t-shirts etc and thought, hang on, why don't we take this on. I am a stay at home mum and do bits and pieces like a lot of you guys on here, but wondered if any of you have ventured into the t-shirt printing/ironing on business. I have looked into wholesale t-shirts and would hope to eventually increase to things like mugs and bags etc but in no rush and aware it's super competitive out there so more thinking about selling locally. Just wondered if anyone had any advice or has some good website they have purchased from with good customer service etc. I am aware people won't want to give me their buying secrets but believe me I am no competition for you as with 3 kids and school holidays starting here next week this won't be a rush set up! Happy if someone wants to PM though instead.

Thank you x

Yeah, I have looked at that in the past, but we already have the machine here and the set up so happy to deal with the whole process from start to finish rather than paying another company to do it.

Ive looked into the tshirt thing but my design skills are at the same level as when I was at primary school. But heres a few bits and bobs I picked up;

1 - the quality and fitting of the shirt varies immensely. Even though youre not doing print on demand it may be worthwhile joining a facebook group called Inkthreadalble Hub, lots of info to be gleaned about the brands of shirt and their good/bad qualities. Inkthreadable are a POD company doing clothing and other stuff. On their website you can check the price differences and sizing for t shirts - their cheapest one is a Gildan heavy cotton..Ive got a Gildan Heavy tour tshirt bought from a non official merchandise stall . Its AWFUL. . There is a t shirt supplier called Wordens where you can buy low quantities.

2- my daughter in law and her sister are quite 'crafty' - theyve sourced quite a few things/blanks inc mugs using a facebook site called Share The Supplier.

Cricuits look SO useful, I really wish I had the patience to learn, but theyre quite expensive to buy. I could see it will end up in a dusty cupboard alongside my previous 'great idea'.... bought a drone which took off over the sea and when I managed to get it back, nearly severed my thumb picking the fllamin thing up completely ignoring the fact that the propellers were still whirring.
