Problems With Comments

Hello - Happy NY all!

I've just updated my WP blog to a paid theme and updated some plug-ins and Jetpack settings, but I've just realised today that none of the comments I'm leaving on anyone else's blogs are showing. This is on WP comments (rather than Disqus etc), leaving a comment via the blog post page itself rather than reader.

After I submit a comment, the page refreshes and goes back to the top (before it would show my comment straight away as published/awaiting mod). I don't know if it's just a coincidence with updating my site... Quite saddened & frustrated as I left heaps of comments for people before I realised. I don't know whether comments on my blog are affected but I haven't had any on my latest post (this is for http://invisiblyme.com/)

I hope this kind of query is okay to post here as I'm not quite sure what to do or what's going on. Thank you kindly!

I'm not entirely sure what WP comments, is it the built in WP commenting system or something?

I was able to leave a comment on your blog absolutely fine today (pending moderation!)

Are you OK leaving comments on site that use Disqus etc then?

I have been leaving more comments and thought I'd resolved the problem by logging out and changing passwords and trying a different browser (after a lot of confusion with passwords between wordpress.com reader and my WP.org interface for my blog). However, I seem to still be having the problem. But - it seems to just be with sites that use standard wordpress, like here as this is the latest I'd tried to comment https://sociallyawkwarrd.wordpress.com/2018/01/01/my-goals-for-2018-🎉💫/

Usually, after commenting, it'll show up as either published or pending, but it's just like it's refreshing the page instead. I can't believe how frustrated I'm getting by this (NY goal to stress less about the small stuff perhaps?!)
