My Prolific Assistant browser add on is working again :)

I think the developer has fixed it. Chrome disabled it and I had to accept some new permissions before it went back on. It's pinged three studies this afternoon, which I would have missed without it, as there wasn't even a '1' on the tab. But I refreshed the page and there they were! Happy days.
Aye all seems to be working now, I saw a notification for a £1.40 survey this morning pop up!

I thought it was just me. Just had my first one in days. I was getting an error message quite often.

Just came to post this here. Well it's not a huge loss as it's only 10% of the First cashout and probably everyone does the first at £5 as soon as they can.

I signed up for Prolific a couple of weeks ago - but so far have only been offered four surveys, whereas I read on here that some people are offered lots more. Am I just an odd demographic I wonder?!

Is your 'profile' complete? You can check this by clicking on it, it should show as 100%. They regularly add new questions (sometimes a couple of new ones in just one week) and usually you get a survey short after.
Another factor would be that the surveys might fill up too quickly. If you can, try and check the website several times a day, morning, mid day, afternoon, and early evening.

I've had 11 surveys since signing up last week, however, 8 of those came on the day I signed up. Three more three days later, one could not be completed because the survey was closed when you clicked the link so I returned it. I have had none for the past five days and ironically that was when I completed the profile. I usually have the screen on prolific all the time so I'd pick up when a survey was issued. If I don't get anything this week I might delete the answers to the profile questions and see if that has an effect.

I just had a very odd cross over. I opened a study on Prolific, and it took me to a Testable Minds study. I almost made the mistake of putting in my testable i.d rather than my Prolific one. I can't understand why Testable would have a study on Prolific, when they have their own platform.

Lol - this low paying but amusingly named "attitudes towards firesetting" survey isn't going anywhere.

Been sitting there for over a month!

I did a fire setting one about a month ago for £2. Is it the same one still there?

Sure is. Haven't quite brought myself to do it yet as pay isn't great. I am intrigued though!

Prolific is very hit and miss over the last few months. This used to be by far my biggest earner, averaging £30 per week. I would love it if the communicated more with the users, and would let us know why things changed.

I can't do Prolific studies if they are using Qualtrics. Apparently it's something to do with TalkTalk. This is a copy of my email to Prolific. I've been on live chat with Talk Talk for an hour, and I don't think they really understand. Has any one had the same problem and got round the issue please? Apparently it's something I can do if I had technical support but Talk aren't really with it on this one I don't think. Suggestions greatly received with thanks.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you've having trouble accessing studies.

If your ISP is TalkTalk, we have discovered recently that they have blocked the survey website Qualtrics erroneously, so you will be unable to access any studies hosted on this platform for the time being.

Unfortunately, this is somewhat out of our control, but we're doing everything we can to push for a quick resolution between Qualtrics and TalkTalk. Some participants have been able to remove the block for themselves by contacting TalkTalk's support team, so you may wish to do this to expedite the process.

Otherwise, if you have a different ISP, let us know and we will investigate further.

Best,
Prolific

Hello
I'm unable to do any studies as I receive a security message each time I attempt one. The message reads that the site can't provide a secure connection and asks me to reload, it still arrives back at the same point. I have either had to return studies or let them time out. I wondered if this has been reported by other members?
Thanks for reading.
Thanks all.

You can always add an exception in the browser, or use different DNS provider.

I'm not on TalkTalk but that is more or less the same as the email that appeared in my Prolific mail this morning:

Hi there,
This is Zak from Prolific Support. If you were able to take part successfully in the study "Oxford Packaging Research Project: Perceptions of Food (2B300)", then please disregard this message.
We discovered yesterday (13th March) that the UK broadband provider TalkTalk has erroneously blocked the Qualtrics website (popular survey hosting platform), so if your ISP is TalkTalk you may be unable to access some studies on Prolific for the time being. You may instead receive an error message, such as "The connection is not secure", and the study won't load correctly.
Unfortunately, this is somewhat out of our control, but we're doing everything we can to push for a quick resolution between Qualtrics and TalkTalk. We do nevertheless apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Whilst we attempt to resolve the issue with these companies, we kindly ask that you "Return" any submissions in which you were unable to take part in the study successfully - you can do this from your Submissions page, by clicking the "Return + cancel reward" button.
If you require any further assistance, or if your ISP is not TalkTalk but you still couldn't take part in this study, feel free to contact Prolific Support via support@prolific.ac.
Best,
Zak
