So as per the title.

Has anybody else had this and if so have you given them it? Is it legitimate?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is legitimate. I had this request months ago. It is so they comply with HMRC regulations.

Ok, thank you. So they aren't likely to use the National Insurance number for nefarious things (if there are nefarious things they could use it for)?

I got kicked off after 3+ years and a 99.5% approval rate. No idea why but it's really hammered my monthly income. That was more than half of what I war earning. They really need a challenger.

CloudResearch is very similar to Prolific though not quite as many studies but another decent paying one. There aren’t any referral links so you could just look it up and give it a try.

Today Prolific surprised me with this message:

429 – Too many requests.
We've detected unusually high activity from your account. To keep things fair, your access to studies have been limited, please check back later.

Does anyone know how long it can last?

Yeah that can happen if pressing start survey too quickly. Have to leave 2-3 seconds between requests. New since August / September 25. Can be very frustrating!
