One way of getting backlinks is offer guest posts on blogs within the same niche. However, is there a simple tool that can be used to evaluate whether or not your chosen site is good, bad or ugly (spammy)? For example, how does say, The Money Shed rank as a good site for backlinks?

I know this thread is a bit old, but a great tool for checking website quality is Moz's Link Explorer. It gives a domain authority score and spam score which can help decide if a backlink is worth pursuing. Has anyone had experience using SEMrush for this? Would be great to hear if it gives similar insights for evaluating sites like The Money Shed.
