I am going through this list of Focus groups on this site and some on Reddit. I was signed up to 2 sites (www.focus4people.com and take part in research) and I got zero projects through these sites in the last year.

1. I just wondered which sites have been the best for you please.

2. Do you do mainly telephone or webcam/zoom/video projects?

These days I just use Respondent.io or Testing Time - No need to go to physical ones imo and the online ones tend to pay more anyway and offer a FAR greater choice of studies.

Thank you Jon. Yeah I am not prepared to go to any face to face ones anymore. I see the zoom/webcam ones pay better than any other projects.

I am on Repondent now. I will look at Testing time.

I would appreciate if anyone else would let me know which Focus groups have been good for them lately. Might help some newbies or even visitors not signed up to this site.

I asked questions on Reddit (beermoney and work online) and deleted it. It's crazy busy over there and I just get inundated with referral links. PM is filling up now.

Focus4People was really good for me in the past, but then I could get to London. It used to be very heavily London-based.

I don't know if the dynamics have changed as now it seems anyone can get on so the amount of potential applicants will be huge.

I remember on occasion having chats with people as my success rate was really small, I think less than 10% of everything I applied for did not get accepted, despite me matching the requirements.

But this is pretty much par for the course. Some extra tips are to apply for the projects early when they come out, and also to answer your phone. Sometimes they will call but if you miss it, the job won't be held for you, it'll go to the next person on the list.

Thank you. Yeah I got a focus group through them about 18 months ago. You are right, I seem to match what they require but I don't get selected anymore. I gave up a few months back.

Yeah, I suppose the competition is high.
If you just join all the sites and keep on applying though I think you should get at least a couple per week. The way they pay the returns are still pretty good.

I'm gonna start doing it again soon I think. Strangely I had no problem sitting in a room full of strangers for these things, but I get a bit anxious when it is a Zoom thing.

Honestly I feel exactly the same.

I feel bad to admit that I just pulled out of a $100 study on Respondent, a zoom study that would have taken place yesterday. I am just not comfortable doing video interviews or studies. I had an interview on Whatsapp once and I had the camera pointing at the top of my head for the first 3 or 4 minutes. I was so awkward and uncomfortable.

I know the video ones are the highest paid projects on most sites.

However, I did not mind the focus groups I attended in person, sitting with a bunch of strangers.

I am another one who hates zoom. I recently did on online one for panelbase. Look for a study that says recruitment not survey. I have done a few for people for research but they are based in Bristol where I live. I quite enjoy the room full of strangers as well.

Are all focus groups done via webcam/Zoom etc or are there any that are just typing online live etc?

I only do online ones but this is one of the easiest ways to make money online in my opinion! To get regular ones you do need to be signed up to quite a few places and apply on a regular basis. I've had success with all of these:

Ping Pong
Testing Times
Podengo
Code 3
People for Research
Take Part in Research
Focus Force
Respondent
Angelfish
GKA
UserTesting

By being signed up to all these and applying for everything I am suitable for I tend to do 2 a week. I've only just got back into the routine of doing this over the last 6ish weeks so this may not continue but so far they are quite a good earner. Constantly applying is definitely the key.

Thank you for this list.

I have just applied for a couple focus groups on a couple sites. Hopefully i will get one of them cause my purse and bank are empty. I've been managing to make a few pounds on Qmee every week.

There are a million other ways to make money online. If you need extra cash don't limit yourself to just one thing. You need to have plenty of ways. I was working 30 hours a week and still managed to earn more online than I did in my paid job a couple of years ago....BUT if it was legal I tried it! Lots of income streams is the key! What else are you doing?

I have just started trying to make money online and there are some things I am not comfortable doing.
At the moment I have just signed up to a few focus groups. I got one last week that I pulled out of cause it was a zoom meeting and I was nervous. I hate being on video but I know I will have to get used to it. I've applied for 3 focus groups and hope to book one this coming week.

I am also doing surveys. Making a tiny bit of money.

I am writing a book at the moment but that will never be fast cash. I might not see any profit for months.

So I need some things to do that can bring me some immediate cash.

I have gone back and forth thinking about matched betting. I am not really interested in it and I don't have the funds to start it now.

I am thinking about doing something on Etsy or Fiverr. I'm open to ideas, I've had a couple people send me PM's on here and reddit with a couple suggestions. I am going through the lists and doing some research.

I'd be grateful for any more suggestions.

There is a $100 Household study available for people on Respondent.

Good luck!

Thank you for posting this.

I left Respondent. Despite my profile showing where i live, all the studies i see are in other European countries and i am not suitable for any of them. I asked them why i am only seeing projects that are not suitable for me, they couldn't explain it.
I tried searching under best match and new projects, lowest pay, highest pay etc but i see projects not right for me.

I am seeing better projects on other focus group sites, likes ones about sleep patterns. i just havent booked one yet.
