It's been 2 days since I signed up to The Money Shed. I have found so many useful tips and so much information. One of the most useful things that I have found is reading everyone's monthly targets and diaries. It is encouraging to see people's amounts growing so fast. So, I wanted to add my own - for my own motivation, and also in case anyone else finds it useful.

A few things to note when looking at my figures - I live in a remote area so won't get as many Mystery Shop missions as most. Also I have a baby so don't have much time to devote, and I am usually on my tablet so probably miss a few of the surveys that need to be done on the computer.

Just a tip for the apps if you have an iPhone - go to settings-privacy-location services and change from "always" to "while using" to help conserve battery. I am finding I use an extra 30% battery than normal with these apps but it's probably because I keep checking them all the time!!

Here are my earnings so far: (sorry the amounts have gone wonky! Need to get excel!)

Total £ £21.06
Total $ $6.89

Spare5 $6.89 (mostly web tasks)
Surveybods £0.00 (I have a £12.75 balance but nothing in the last few days so want to start at 0 for consistency)
Yougov £1.00
Prolific Academic. £3.80
One poll £5.45
Populus Live £2.00
Field Agent £0.00
Streetbees £0.00
Clic and Walk £0.70
Streetspotr £0.00
Yoobic £0.00
Quickthoughts. £1.00
Task 360 £2.50
ipoll £4.61

I am really pleased with this. I think my favourites are Prolific Academic and Spare5 so far. The Field Agent tasks pay well but are far away from me so not worth making a special journey to. I will be signing up to some more sites too so will update when I reach the £30 mark!

Thanks so much! I will take a look at your website/blog and sign up to a few more sites over the next few days (I can't see your signature but I can't see anyone's so I think it's because I'm on a tablet...). I can't believe how little time it takes for it to start mounting up. It will be a while before I can withdraw a lot of it, but at least I know it's there.

I will add onto my diary the amounts I have actually received (when applicable).

[member=3011]Rs20033[/member] when you start out it is always going to be a bit of slow going but knowing it is building up is great.

I haven't had a company fail to eventually pay me in the 2.5 years I've been doing it all full time :)

You can probably download 'Tapatalk' I think it is called, to see the forum better. Here is a copy & paste of my signature anyway :)

I made over £17,000 in the 2014/5 tax year! Aiming for £20,000 this year

Tapatalk works wonders with MoneyShed... Although it doesn't show signatures...

That a fair amount to earn in such a brief period of time... Keep at it and keep motivated... I have to say this is one of the best places I've found online for making money... The community spirit is fantastic

Hi Rachel and a belated welcome to TMS (I've had a busier than usual two weeks with moving house as well as festivities!)

Looks like you're doing a great job, how old is your baby if you don't mind me asking? I have 2 kiddies one is 2 and the other 6 months - I can tell you now earning online is easier to do when they're babies haha

I have to do most of my stuff in the evening now since my oldest has dropped her nap but am about to embark on a resolution to earn at least £200 a month.

We all start out on a bit of a splatter gun approach and soon find out what works for us and what doesn't. Then when you filter out all the low earners and spend more time on the big ones you'll be well away!

Hey [member=3011]Rs20033[/member] !

I saw you saying about wonky lines :) There's a button called 'Insert table' when you're writing a new post.

When you click it you get some code
table
tr
td /td
/tr
/table
but with [] around each word. In html code / means end so /td means end of cell and td means beginning of cell.

tr starts a new row /tr finishes it.
If you want to put stuff into a table (alas copying and pasting from excel doesn't work I've tried, hence learning this!)

e.g.
AppMoney made
Surveybods£1.30
Yougov£3.50

I'm not sure if that made sense :-/ I'll try explain more if it doesn't?

Anyway, welcome!

Hi [member=3011]Rs20033[/member]. Belated welcome from me too. I think I'm still in the splatter gun stage like [member=362]Kelzky[/member] said! Been a shedder for three months now and still not signed up to as many things as you! You've had a great start. I don't get lots of app based tasks but find I prefer them. I'm not one for doing lots of surveys so I'm finding that I'm starting to pick and choose. [member=920]katykicker[/member] is the survey queen. Keep it up!

Surveys :D Ahh, I get so many! I have the survey thing down, still get emails almost daily asking me questions about surveys. I keep writing new blog posts to try and just forward to people but always seems to be another question haha.

Surveys aren't for everyone, and my demographics are good (as some people feel the need to point out constantly.... Despite not actually knowing what my demographics are ;D) but basically I put in 1-2 hours a day, sometimes less, and cram in LOTS of surveys.

You don't need to do surveys to make money though and matched betting and mobile apps are great ways to make money, and considerably faster too :)

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! [member=362]Kelzky[/member] my baby is 6 months old, and I have a 12 year old too! She rolled over yesterday so it won't be long before she's off and about, and I won't be able to take my eyes off her for a second!

Thanks [member=2818]AWW[/member] ! I couldn't for the life of me work out how to make my wonky lines straight! I don't have time at the moment to type the whole lot out like that but have done January's so far below, just to check I can do it. That looks a lot better!

Yougov£1.50
One Poll£0.30
Valued Opinions£0.50
Onepulse£0.30
Total £2.60

[member=2514]tasteph[/member] I prefer the app tasks too but live in a small town, so haven't had many come through. I'm still on level 1 of Roamler (a couple of tasks left, that I need to do a bit of walking for). Hopefully once I level up there will be a few there. Clic and Walk is good as there are a few "complete at home" tasks.

[member=920]katykicker[/member] thanks for all of your help, you are an inspiration! I think I will be dropping a few survey sites as time goes on (but it will pain me to lose the money in those accounts so I might be stubborn and wait to cash out first!!). I have checked out your blog and it's great.

I really want to try matched betting. My husband and I have a rule that we both need to agree on anything big that we want to do (works both ways and it works well for us) and he isn't convinced (yet). We don't gamble anymore, so it's convincing him that it isn't gambling because there's no risk that is the problem. A few years ago we tried something on the roulette (it was to do with betting on black/red and doubling stakes, it works in theory but once the website catches on - and it does - it stops working. That was gambling and I wouldn't recommend btw). He is probably thinking it will be like that... I don't want to keep nagging about it so I need to wait for the right moment, and sit and go through it all properly.

I'm doing the January challenge, so will probably just update my diary monthly with running totals from now on. Thanks again everyone for your help and support.

Think about MBing this way

Do the free trial with Profit Accumulator above

It will cost you NOTHING and you will make circa £45

Then you have risked nothing (not that there is any risk with matched betting anyway as it isn't gambling) and you can THEN decide if it is for you or not

I read the free trial as in I didn't need to pay anything to PA. I presumed that I would need a small amount of money to do the 2 offers. If I don't need any money to do those, then that will be easier to convince him!

From memory you will need about £50 to do the 2 offers but you won't lose any money at all and will make around £45

@Jon That's what I thought. I will update soon about this. It would be awesome to make £500/£1000 a month from home, and I don't have the time to dedicate to Leapforce or anything like that so need something I can do in my own time.

[member=3011]Rs20033[/member] if you can't afford it right now and can't convince your partner what about saving up the money for a few weeks from online earnings? That way you can explain to him if it goes wrong (it won't if you follow it right - you'll be fine!) then at least it isn't normal cash out of your budget that you've lost x

That's a good idea. I just withdrew my first £20 from Prolific Academic and have already had $14.92 go into PayPal from Spare5 so that will help! I think the problem is it sounds too good to be true. I will show him the newspaper articles I have found and the fact that if you google it, nobody says it's a scam... I was sceptical when I first saw it mentioned, and it took me a while to get my head round it!

Look, we don't have scams on here

and I CERTAINLY wouldn't be promoting Profit Accumulator if it was part of a scam

just tell him that

Oh I know that, just looking at it from my husbands point of view. Sorry, didn't mean to offend. If it was just me, I'd be doing MB already. I'm normally the one being cautious and talking him out of things - I'm not used to talking him INto things! There are a few expensive things he wants to buy so I may use that and say we will be able to afford them sooner if I try MB!
