can you not just go ahead and do it?

Do you have your OWN money you can use?

It's guaranteed money which is also risk free

Moneyisn't the issue really. I look after the finances so no problems there. There are just certain things that we both feel that we both need to be on board with as we are a team, and this is one of them.

[member=3011]Rs20033[/member] when I'm on my mobile I visit the normal website just by going to browser, TMS then down the bottom something like 'use full site' and it's much easier. Bit small etc but I find I can actually use it properly :D

Thanks @katykicker
I think I just have big fingers! The send button is pretty small... I like tapatalk for reading unread posts though.

Ok, you will all be pleased to know, we are going to (finally) give Matched Betting a go! We have an unused bank account and are starting with £100. I will sign up tomorrow when I have some peace and quiet to concentrate! I will keep this diary updated with my winnings. Very excited! Thanks all for the encouragement!

Hello from me too, I am planning to start MB beginning of March as I have decided that I want to save money from surveys especially for that purpose. I am also clueless. I would read your experiences with interest. Ah, and good luck!

Thanks, and good luck to you too! I will keep you all updated on here. Don't forget you will want a separate bank account, and you can get cash back on MB too (quidco or top cash back etc).

Best of luck and be sure to let us know how you get on!

The matched betting thread here is a great place to ask questions too so take a look: http://www.themoneyshed.co.uk/index.php?topic=2943.0

Just to say I think it's great that you and your husband like to agree on decisions, I do the dame thing with my husband. I hope you'll get to show him how great matched betting is and how he was right to trust you

[member=3094]Midnight[/member] Thanks :)

I know it sounds a bit weird to others, but I don't think either of us has ever stopped the other from doing anything, but it prevents so many arguments! I thought I was going to have to show him lots of articles and forums etc, but he just agreed and has left me to it. He does have a tendency to gamble so I'm quite pleased about this.

Baby woke at 4 and decided she wanted a great big meal, so I've only just got up! Once she has a nap I will sign up to PA and take a look at these offers! I'm sort of nervous but I'm good at spreadsheets, data entry and following instructions so as long as I concentrate I can't see any mistakes happening.

I will report back once my bonus bets come back in! Exciting! I will need to think of a new target for the January challenge. £75 will be too easy now!

Yep after much discussion my husband has just let me get in with it. We trust each other and he knows I would not do anything that would be risky.
Keep us updated with your progress. My first couple of bets were really nerve racking but I have found it easier the more I do and it does get faster. Haven't touched MB since before Christmas as was too busy and was away so I going to get back into it again once I have caught up with all the admin and things after being away.
Just take your time and take it at your own pace.

Just a (non) update as I did say I would be starting MB two days ago....

I signed up to the free PA trial. I have watched the videos, and opened accounts with Coral and Betfair. I have placed my qualifying bet and layed it. I received my £20 bonus in the form of 4 x £5 bets. This threw me a bit as it is different from the PA video. It's fine though, just means I need to bet a few more times, with smaller amounts. I will place my other bets today and maybe tomorrow.

So far I have put £5 into Coral and £25 into Betfair so £30 out of my bank. I have about £19 left in my Betfair account and £20 worth of free bets in Coral. The match that I bet on takes place tomorrow.

The process was easy with the brilliant videos, but I was very scared I would mess it up. I did what others here did, and constantly paused and rewinded! I am looking forward to when I can do this without thinking!

I'm hoping if I jot down my every move here then it may encourage people to try, so if anyone has any questions about what I write, please ask. If anyone is nervous about trying it, there is excellent support here, and I had an email from PA also offering support.

I am very excited about this!

Well, I have placed and layed my free bets (gulp)!! I needed £60.00 to get to this point with the odds that I chose. (£5 in coral, £55 in Betfair).

My matches are both tomorrow. I can't afford to do the next offer until I get that money back, so it's a waiting game now. I just hope I get a win in Betfair so I don't need to wait for my money to be withdrawn (I have enough to do the next offer at the bookies, just not enough to lay it).

You do need to pay attention though, I nearly layed £20 instead of copying from the calculator. Luckily I noticed the liability was wrong.

I will report back how I do!

This is exactly it. Mistakes only happen in two ways

1) typing error / calculation error / bet error through lack of concentration or rushing

2) gambling eg 'oh no way Man Utd will lose, I won't bother laying that then I'll save myself a few quid'

The first kind of error can always be rectified by using trickybet calculator or placing another bet to even it all out. Minimise risk by always double checking bet, odds, stake before you confirm

The second error you should NEVER DO! MB is guaranteed risk free profit. Don't jeopardise large amounts of money by thinking you can beat the system; you can't.

Let us know what profit you make and we can cheer you on :) You'll do great!

If you have a tendency to get carried away with gambling, I found Coral to be very pushy. As soon as I signed up, I had someone on chat trying to get me to deposit another £50 to get a free £50 bet (which could have been great but I need to follow the PA instructions while I am clueless, plus there were probably dodgy wager requirements). Once I logged off, they texted me to try to get me to deposit more. We did the casino bonus (just for fun, to practise for later slots) aware of the ridiculous wager requirements (£10 bonus, wager £500) and ended up with £0.71 in the cash balance. Obviously at this point most people would think "well, £10 got me £500 so let's deposit another £10". So you do need to be very disciplined about it. Treat it like a business.

I am going to download Ultimatcher later and put in what I've done. I don't want to leave it too late to set up and end up with 2 hours worth of bets to input. They are on a piece of paper at the moment so I really want them safe on the PC.

Thanks for your encouragement! Both of my matches start at 3pm today so later this afternoon I can update with my profit.

Edit: Ultimatcher is all set up! I used The Money Shed's Beginners Guide to set it up - http://blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/ultimatcher-beginners-guide/

Well, my bets won into Betfair, so I don't need to withdraw! I made £13.74 profit!

I have finally placed my Betfred bet. What a nightmare! First, it wouldn't let me open it. Then it logged me out because I took too long watching the video. Then, it took a good 20 minutes just to find the football match as I couldn't find a search function. All good though. The match is tomorrow and I get my free bet 48 hours after, so will update then!

Well done! Really positive start. It's always good when the bets settle and you're like ooh, it does work! Obviously you know in theory the profit but having it there confirmed is a good feeling. And with the bets won into exchange that's nice and handy.

Keep going! :)

@auntygeek thanks :)

Minor update: Awesome! My Betfred qualifier won into Betfair, so I just need to wait for my £30 bonus to be credited so I can do the free bet. Once that is done and settled I will be buying a PA membership!

Also loving Ultimatcher! I was trying to visualise a spreadsheet that would hold all the info, and if I designed one it would have been huge, required a lot more work to input data, and wouldn't have been half as clear.
