The bookies put a bit of software on your computer called "Iesnare" which lets bookies see what other sites you are using (for example Smarkets,Matchbook.. so they can easily see if you are a "bonus abuser" and if you are betting and laying and of course gub you... It is fairly easy to remove the bookies tracking software a very helpful guide posted on Bank Of Bets at https://www.bankofbets.com/training/how-to-block-iesnare?awt_l=6AZ7.&awt_m=ikvhkryoaBsrCFU

Thanks mabozza.
I've had my new laptop for a couple of days. Found a cookie but no files. Followed instructions and hopefully it will put a block on this dubious spyware from turning up on my pc. Not sure what I can do with the cookie.

I've seen the same instructions on geegeez.co.uk and there was also a link to this article,

Am no expert but i think you can just delete the cookie, and check periodically for the tracker software appearing.. Think it may be a random thing, every 20,000th click on a bookie gets a tracker sent back or something... certainly can go a way to fathoming out why gubbings happen... since i stopped MBing (and using bookies) have had no gubbings at all (Could of course be totally unrelated) LOL

I think the tracker may be random... I found it on my laptop and pc... removed all and did a few offers this weekend and still no sign of it back as yet...i don't mind doing a check and if necessary remove when I do dabble in MBing

It's shocking and highly intrusive. I have done a lot of reading on it and it gets complicated but at the very least you can install firefox and a couple of addons. ublock origin and umatrix. ublock origin is an adblocker, which I find essential anyway but can stop some pages loading (you can always alter the settings) and umatrix stops things like iesnare (you can even see it in on sites which use it) but again you may have to allow some things to make pages work. Delve deeper into the settings of these two and there are lots of other options which make some of the other recommended privacy apps mostly redundant. Then if you can afford it you can use a VPN. I am no expert either so I'll try and report back once I have more a more solid setup. I'm not even gambling myself at the moment but I wanted to get as secure as possible just because the the current state of affairs on the internet is disgraceful. Sadly, if you takes steps to make your computer as secure as possible it basically makes the internet unusable which shows just how bad it is.

I've tried to follow the instructions to block it but seems its not working, the IP to cancel should be 127.0.0.1, as the article says, but my pc keep changing it to another different. Anyone had this problem?

Edit: Solved, I didnt uncheck the only-read box so I couldnt modify the host file, it was saved just as a notepad .txt
