Purchased 4 vintage boot sale tools at an average price of 20p and sold for a total of £91. Not bad.
Excellent work as alwaysPurchased 4 vintage boot sale tools at an average price of 20p and sold for a total of £91. Not bad.
The key is knowledge. Yes, in the early days I made mistakes, but the golden rule is if you don't pay much, you can't lose much. I know a little about a lot of things rather than a lot about anything in particular. The other thing is do your research and spend time looking at what sells and for what price on sites like ebay. Items do not necessarily have to be old to make extra money. An example, bought two boxes of brand new coach bolt at £1 box and sold the two for £18. When Toy Story appeared I went into a toy shop and bought about 10 metal lunch boxes to send to the USA because they were not available there and they were willing to pay a premium for them. This week I have turned over about £400 for less than a tenner outlay. I say this just to prove that there is reasonable money still available in reselling!wow thats amazing .
what advice would you give a newbie at this ?
Hi ladymissed...there is still plenty of cash out there and reselling can be really profitable if you are willing to put in a bit of effort.I"m a bit late to this thread, but I'm just starting to think about doing some reselling on ebay and/or schpock and having not done it before it's really inspiring to see how well it's working for some of you guys!

If I were you I would start out selling any things around your home you no longer want. I started out just selling my own stuff and it gave me a good idea of what sells. Things I thought would be snapped up got no interest and things I didn't think would be desirable triggered a bidding war! I am glad I did that before investing any money in it.
Thanks for the advice - I'll look out for your guide!Start off small selling a few items using your free listings as a private seller on eBay. And then when it starts going well you can consider doing it as a business! i'll be writing a how to guide over the next few days for people new to selling on eBay
Yes I think that's my plan to start. I'm in the middle of doing a big clear out of my flat, and usually I'd just take a load of stuff to charity but I know there's a few things that will probably sell on either ebay or schpock so will start there and see what the trends are!If I were you I would start out selling any things around your home you no longer want. Great advice, thank you - this is why I love this forum, everyone is so helpful!Aucions are always hit and miss on eBay. I always do buy it nows based on sold item prices. I use the auctions to buy stock to sell on!
Any of you wheeler dealers know where I can get some PS1 game cases in decent condition. I picked up some games this morning at bargain prices but the cases are scratched up or cracked. I thought ebay would come up trumps but some of the prices being asked for empty cases are almost as much as I would want to sell the games for.
At the moment its looking like the cheapest way to do it is look for some crap ps1 games that no one wants and buy them just for their cases.
