You know it's really good that you tracked the return on advertising. It's VERY easy to end up throwing money at advertising but if the returns aren't there then it's either time for more A/B testing or accepting that advertising on that platform is a waste of your money and look at other ways of doing it

Have you considered using bloggers at all? Send out free prints to people for them to review on their blog and in turn link back to your store? At some point, either sooner or later you will have to speculate to accumulate if you want your little treasure trove business to grow!

That’s a good idea thank you John.

As a customer on Etsy at the weekend I'm not surprised you are getting so many orders.

I wanted to buy a canvas for my home office, found a print I liked at a decent price (£36), I could choose a huge variety of frames or whatever, price included DHL delivery and as soon as you click buy you aren't taken to create an etsy account but straight through to a payment screen cutting down on one of the things that might put a customer off.

It gets delivered tomorrow so I'm looking forward to seeing the quality of it.

Just had a read through this and it seems you're doing really well for yourself which is great, you're definately putting the work in!

I'm not sure if you're still doing the Just Eat thing, but you could maybe take a phone or tablet and work on something else if it's a slow night. Obviously not while you're driving but it would save it from being time' wasted' if there's not much work.

Just had a look at your Etsy store, those 'family' ones where they can insert the name into it I think is where the big money is going to be! Must be hundreds of variations you could do on that concept

@Rich, excellent results. Enjoy reading your updates on here.
How are you producing your 'mock up' product images? Are you using a stock template then superimposing your design on top?
And are you creating your personalised name art in GIMP?

Hi Rich,

You have massively inspired me - I am buying a few sets of images later today and going to look into a few things (expect questions - heehee).

I would say to anyone else thinking about it, so far my toughest bit has been finding a decent printer that doesn't cost the earth. I have my eye on one, but just waiting for a focus group to payout to make the purchase.

I can’t believe it. 6 days into the month and I’ve had £308 in sales.

If any of you can set this sort of thing up I would definitely recommend it. It is time consuming don’t get me wrong. Can’t remember the last time I did a Beelivery order. Haven’t been able to do much on Roamler and I haven’t done anything on Neevo for weeks. But this is more than making up for that. I was stressing today because I hadn’t had any orders until about 6pm, and then I ended up with 6 for £57. One woman has ordered 4 over the last couple of days, doing her Christmas shopping early. I did an hour of Uber deliveries and made about £13, and the Lionbridge ads for about £10. So about £70 today. I really feel like based on how it’s gone so far the last couple of months, coming up to Christmas it might get uncontrollable, but I’m flipping excited!

Great work!

Honestly being in charge of the money you bring in online (compared to say just doing work for other companies) can be a whole different ball game as the earning potential is compeltely unlimited no matter if you are doing Etsy, eBay, Blogging, Content Creation etc.. How much you earn is entirely up to you!

@rich110991, you sell physical prints right now. Also, will you branch out to selling Printables? i.e. Send digital files that the customer prints out.

Would it be best to offer printables in both JPEG & PDF format to the customer?

My understanding is there's 3 types of Printable to sell:
1) a specific file sold "as is" - no customisation offered
2) the seller edits the Printable to the customer's needs
3) seller sends a link (PDF) for the customer to customise.

I guess you're currently doing option 2 for physical art work.

My printer was only £60 and it’s great. Only thing I’m a bit bothered about is I wish I could do A3 as well! But I can look into that later on.

Yea I went looking for the model you listed but couldn't find it anywhere.

When and where did ya pick it up?
